Hi just starting slimming world this week. Have not been great with my diet for a while now.. used to do unislim and felt i was always hungry on it.. did paleo last yr for 2 months and found it very restrictive.. i an 14st 9lbs and am 5ft 9in so have about 3 stone to go.. my question is what kind of weight loss is realistic per week with slimming world.. thanks a mill

A healthy realistic loss is between 1 and 2 lbs a week. But if its ur first week be prepared for a larger loss or sometimes even a little gain while ur body gets used to the plan. Just keep in mind everyones body is different, u just have to find what works for u :)

Personally I think it's better to look at how easy it is to stick to in the long run rather than how quickly you can lose weight on it. I've given up on SW loads of times before because I've not lost quickly enough on it. But if I had just kept on plodding along at the 'slow' rate I wouldn't be in the position I am now and probably would be near target!

A pound or two a week is a healthy loss. And on SW you won't feel deprived while on your journey. Regardless of how long it takes.

Generally I would lose 2lbs per week. My best week (outside of my first week) I lost 5lbs as I did a super speed week. Good luck!

My 'average ' works out 2lb loss a week however the last 3 weeks I have lost either 1/2 o 1lb a week I'm not disheartened tho any loss is fantastic :) I've a lot to lose Ill take each week as it comes good luck on your journey x

Different people lose weight at different rates. It depends on how active your are, your age, how much you eat (you might eat more superfree and free foods than a friend, for example), your age etc.

I agree with Mrs CC - focus on the fact that SW is a healthy, long term plan which allows you to eat proper food and never feel hungry. You don't have to feel deprived as you can still have treats - what you choose is up to you. Whilst losing weight, you are also learning a new relationship with food. As a slow loser myself - rarely more than a pound a week and often less - I believe that the slower you lose weight, the more likely you are to keep it off!

My friend and I started to lose weight at the same time. I've plodded away on SW, enjoying the odd meal or holiday period off plan, and she went for the quick fix - fast days, weird grains, full fat/low carbs and almost anything else suitable for a veggie. Several years on, I'm maintaining having lost 4 st but she is larger and heavier than when we started.
