Weird periods since starting to lose weight?

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread.. I'm unsure of where to write it.

So, basically I started SW just over a month ago. Before that I hadn't had a period since Feb.
First week I lost 9 lbs, then half way through the next week (before WI 2) I start my period. No biggie, just carry on like normal.

Here's the weird bit.. I am still on my period, have been since then. I have no idea if this is normal?
Total weight loss at the moment is 1 st 1.5 lbs. Could losing weight be causing this weird month long period? (no signs of it going, either.)

So yeah, I was wondering if this is normal or if anyone else experienced this. I'm a bit worried to be honest!

I've not gone to a doctor yet because I recently moved and I was having trouble finding a practise that would actually let me sign up. I've got one now though and have an appointment for the end of the week. (Trust the only available one to be really busy, lol!)

Otherwise there are no problems at all (apart from wanting to snack on non SW friendly foods, haha!) so I've not been too worried. I kept telling myself before "Oh it hasn't been long." "I'm sure it will end soon." etc.
Only reason the timing kicked in is because OHs parents visited the weekend before my 2nd WI and they just visited again. No idea why but that made me realise how long it has been!

So.. Normal when starting to lose weight at my weight? (start weight 25 st 12 lbs) Or should I actually be worried? :/

Thanks in advance if anyone can help. :)

I haven't experienced this. The best thing to do as you are doing is see your doctor

The fact it had being so long since your last one before this, i would most definally see your doctor. Although it may be nothing medical, having it for so long nay lead to lack of iron too. A general check up before/at the start of weight lose is advisable anyway! Bes of luck xx

Could be any number of things. Sounds hormonal to be honest. Females eh??

If you were my age I would say menopausal, but I bet you're just a spring chicken! Still I bet it's hormones! Probably nothing at all to be worried about, just a quick visit to the GP will put your mind at rest. :D

It's lovely being female!

And I'm only 23 so I doubt it's that. Fingers crossed that it's nothing serious lol.

It happened to me for about 9 weeks and then my cycle returned, i put it down to my body changing a lot as i was eating a lot healthier and loosing weight quite quickly, i also had some spots at the beginning but now my skin is totally clear xx

I was also really spotty at the beginning!
OH mentioned they're clearing the other day. "I can't play connect the dots any more". He sure is lovely.

Fingers crossed my body is just like yours, then. :) Thanks for reassuring me. :D

I have poly cystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and every time I lose weight they start to get back to my weird 5 week cycle. I think it's to do with the oestrogen being released?
