Stress, gains and getting back on it

I've had the month from hell (separated from partner, lost house, no money so had to move to my mums 100 miles away, part time job barely pays the diesel, arghhhh) and I've put on 6lb since all this happened.

I'm an emotional water at the best of times- funnily enough when I feel crap I eat to feel numb, whereas when I'm happy I eat naughty stuff in moderation and enjoy it. I'm really struggling to get back on plan, have managed 1 proper day in the last month. I have no routine, am living between work (live in carer), my van and my mums 100 miles away. Life is very hectic and up in the air, and I'm having to adjust to a different way of life. The cheaper supermarkets are nowhere near my mums in London so I am struggling to afford my usual food, especially when I'm unsure about job prospects.

How do you fix something like this? I've got into really bad habits again but this time I'm stuck with some until my situation changes.

Sorry to hear about your horrid month :-( I can't imagine how you must be feeling.
I don't suppose their is a quick fix suggestion, the only advice I would probably give is to cut yourself a little slack. Make good sw choices where you can but try not to beat yourself up about it, focus on getting life in order and the sw wagon will be waiting for you to hop back on :)
Would you have chance to do a little bulk cooking? A batch of pasta/chilli or something you can travel with? Pasta n sauces are low syn and satisfying as well as quick/easy to make. teamed with extra veg if you can or fruit for the super free.
Try not to think about it as 'must be 100% back on plan' and take it one meal at a time.. Then one day at a time and hopefully you'll find out a way to make it work.
Hope things start to improve soon xx

Awwwwww what an awful time you've had, is it possible to take any holidays from work, that way you can concentrate on looking for another job alongside your current one, another better paid job, or something closer to mums.

On your 100 journey is there a cheap supermarket along the way, perhaps just off the motorway somewhere.

Would it be cheaper to travel by public transport, I realise this will add hours to your journey time, but it will only be temporary.

Public transport not an option as I work very long hours and start at 7/7.30 am. And it's just as expensive and 3 times as long!! Supermarkets off the m11 are ages away, I will prob do a shop before I leave work tomorrow but I don't have a fridge anymore so I can't buy much that needs to stay cool!

My shifts are changing from sept, so I'll have 2 weeks shifts in 5 days and 9 days off in London, will still earn around £900 a month so its liveable and I can look for London work then, can't afford to take any more leave! I had most of last month off, I'm part time (but I work double/triple these hours most weeks covering people) so when I take a week off I really notice it in my wages as I get paid contract hours rather than all the extras I do.

Main problem is my mum is lacking in fridge space, there's just nowhere to put my stuff. I used to do a big shop at Aldi for fresh veg and fruit and work through it, building meals around fresh food each day until it ran out. I don't have room to do this any more (or money really) so I'm having to change the whole way I eat. I'm vegan so it mainly eat fresh food, at least 50% and love variation in my meals which keeps me on plan. I used to bulk cook and freeze but no room to freeze it now, I refuse to shop every day as that's when im tempted to buy high syn food. Winter will be easier as I can keep all my fresh food in my van and it will stay cool enough, but in summer it's going to be a nightmare!

Did not think about small logistics like this a month ago. It had to happen, but it's like my whole life has been turned upside down - partner, house, job and city all at once. I'm sure I'll settle into it once I'm back in some sort if 'routine' (loose term there!)

Thanks for your help
Ladies :)
