I'm just wondering if anyone uses only egg whites while cooking on slimming world??

I eat a lot of eggs on slimming world and although i'm happy with my weight loss so far but wondering if switching to egg whites only might help speed things up??

Any idea's?

I am aware of the different nutritional benefits of the egg yoke but I already eat such a diet I am not concerned about this.

I don't think it will help with anything. If it did, SW would have it as an option.
Its probably less filling only having the whites and so you may go on to eat something else to compensate?
Eggs are good for you, full of everything you need for good, healthy weight loss.

I think just having egg whites stems from very old diets from way back when people were afraid to eat any fat at all! We now know some fat is needed and what could be better than fat coming from a completely natural food source?

Eat up!!

I agree egg whites makes me think of skinny models with faddy diets i dont want to go there

Eating less of any food would probably speed things up - if you ate only half of what you bought, for instance - I wonder why you are thinking just of eggs? And what are you going to do with the yolks - chuck them out?

I broke my arm so was using liquid egg( found in the fridge of my local tesco, just egg nothing added). You can get whole egg or just egg whites. So i got the egg whites to try and liked them better. Using the same quanity.
I feel just as full after and im not eating extra food either. Just wanted a different view on it.

I love the yolk, but my OH isn't a big fan. I think if I gave him the option of egg whites only, he'd happily choose it!

There's something like 15 calories in an egg white, so huge difference between a whole egg and just the white! Not sure how it will affect you - hunger should stay at bay because the white is full of protein! X

I can't be faffed with separating my eggs so whole eggs all the way for me. The cholesterol thing has been debunked I think. Eggs are good healthy food and I eat them A LOT! :)

i nearly had a full blown arguement at work with somebody one day, as they were insisting the cholesterol was bad for you. I tried to explain it was dietry cholesterol but she wouldnt listen.
Oh well i will enjoy as many eggs as i like while she has 1 a week!

I have this argument with a friend from time to time. She sees a dietician who has told her that she must not have more than two eggs a week, and if she does, then the following week she mustn't have any. Nothing anyone else says, or any research we show her, makes any difference. The dietician is expensive, so she must be right!!

Actually, we have given up now. If someone chooses to remain misinformed, there's no point in arguing. It's her loss.

I think eggs get bad press and then good press and that's why people get confused.
It's a fact our bodies naturally make cholesterol and some of us have the hereditary issues too. My doctor did an online cardio assessment to see if I was at risk of heart disease and diabetes. This was because my cholesterol has always been on the high side. Well, evidently I'm 5% at risk of developing diabetes and 6% of heart disease! Have to say he declared me a very low risk...eggs et al !! lol.

. . . .

The papers talk a huge amount of drivel about health issues (actually, about most issues!), sometimes saying the exact opposite in the space of a few days. And sadly, people tend to believe it.
