Totally messed up :-(
So I have been on SW for about 6 weeks now and have lost nearly a stone. However, today and yesterday have been a disaster! I have been so good on the diet since I started and really enjoyed it, found it easy. Don't know what has happened now as I have totally gone mad off track. Yesterday I ate a huge dairy milk chocolate bar, a whole bag of sweets and a family bag of doritos. Plus I had dinner with a friend which wasn't a slimming world recipe. Last night I told myself I would get back on track for today and I started off well this morning. Come the afternoon I went right off again and ate loads of cheese on toast, chocolate, sweets and crisps. I got weighed this morning and had put on 1 and a half pounds. I kind of expected this due to what happeend last night but why have I caved again today! I am so angry at myself and feel rubbish. I must have eaten 2 weeks worth of syns easily over these 2 days. I am due on my period too and I always gain some weight around this time, always find it difficult to manage cravings too!
I would just like a little support and motivation really, I am going to start over again tomorrow but the depression I am feeling because of my greedy actions is awful. I have battled with my weight all of my life, one day I am over weight the next I am under weight. I used to crash diet constantly and I joined SW to break this habit. It seemed to work. Just feel like the only person in the world who has failed miserably now.
Anyway, rant over, I hope everyone else is doing great!
This could have been me writing this, week 6 went a bit pear-shaped for me too. I think when you're on a high from losing you feel you can relax a bit or something. I have managed to get back into it since Sunday though so hoping week 7 is better! We had the man of the year in our group last night giving a talk and it was such an inspiration, he lost over 17 stone. The amount of food he still eats is a unreal but mostly free and superfree, and he uses his syns all the time. I had been trying not to eat chocolate because I felt guilty but I had a Ripple last night and I got another one for tonight, its allowed in the plan and he said the main thing is to have your treats guilt free. I'm scared to buy a multi-pack though, I would have them gone in seconds.

These things happen to the best of us. You should be proud that you actually went to weigh in and faced things - ok you had a small gain but it's just a blip and you've done so well already!
Think about how you're feeling now after the last two days and how you've felt after you've had a really good day on plan. I find that if I need to motivate myself then a read of the magazine or a walk does me the world of good.
Someone once said to me, don't turn a bad day into a bad week and I try and remember that when I have a 'naughty' day.
Sw for me isn't a quick fix, it's something I see as a way of life so I turn a bad day into a positive - I had what I wanted and it's out of my system, now back to it!
You can lose that 1.5lbs next week and imagine how you'll feel when you do and if you lose more then great. Xx
Two days is less than five per cent of 6 weeks. You have "messed up" for less than five per cent of the time. That's not "totally". It's a small blip, easily corrected, so put it behind you, and keep going.
People who don't make mistakes? They don't exist. You are only human!!
Look at how amazing you have done over the past 6 weeks hun rather than dwelling on the past 2 days. Take it from someone who has been there & beat themselves up over it & dwelling too much on the negatives than the positives.... draw a line under it tomorrow is a new day & take it a day at a time from this point forward & that will help get you back on track. Don't put it off though because the longer you put it off the harder it is to get back on track x
The chances of never going off plan are remote. Life happens and there will always be times when, with the best will in the world, you can not stick to plan. The secret is not to dwell on a lapse, but get back on plan as soon as you can.
I'm a maintainer, and the weekend before last I had a horrendous time - I just could not stop eating anything I could lay my hands on - but after a couple of days I was able to return to SW. It helped that I was back at work, with limited opportunities for eating! Did I gain? No - as I had 5 'good' days, to the 'bad' two.
It's worth having a think about why you went off plan. We all know about TOTM cravings, but had you been extra hard on yourself? Perhaps by restricting your Syns too much, not having any treats and so feeling deprived or had you had a row/were worried about something as so comfort eating?
If you haven't got back on track yet, just concentrate on making your next meal a proper SW one - once you start, you'll find it easier to continue. Good luck.
I went to a festival a couple of weeks ago and ate loads of rubbish all weekend. When I got back I struggled to get back on plan for about 3 days. I then spent loads of time on here looking at people's before and after pics. That really helped me to focus on why I am doing it and got me refocused.
Hope this helps X
If you don'Lt learn to be able to put a line through "Binge days" and start over then you will never be able to overcome your weight problem. thats what i realised about myself, so it may also be true for you. it is a constant struggle at the start but soon will be a normal part of life. sometimes days like that are needed, its life, whats important is what you do the majority of the time-thats your "diet"
Aww thank you so much everyone! I am really encouraged and feel much less guilty. Didn't sleep last night beating myself up! Am back on track now and full of determination. It deffo is a lifestyle change not just a diet. We are human and are going to make the odd mistake. You have all really helped me with the encouraging responses so thank you so much!! xx
At least you have come here and admitted it! A stone in 6 weeks - the healthy way - is fab!!
Just think, the whole 6 weeks you have been really good, if you weren't doing SW you would've eaten what you did last night and today in those 6 weeks AND MORE and be heavier than you are now....if that makes sense!
You are doing great, keep at it x
