Regained everything i lost! Back...

Two years ago I joined slimming world. I loved it, found it easy to follow and stick to, the weight fell off! I got to target in 3 months (I lost 1.5 stone) and felt great about myself. Then it started creeping up again. A little at first, and i would work hard to get it back down again, but gradually I was "just" 1lb Over target, then 2... Now 2yrs later I am heavier than when I originally joined! I am so angry with myself and I hate how big I am again.

I need to do this again. I know how, I just need to stick to it. My motivation is a recent video I posted on FB ("ice bucket challenge") where I was appalled at how enormous I am! I nearly didn't post it but I had to because my children are in it doing their challenge too. I am so scared someone is going to comment and ask when my baby is due, my stomach is enormous I def look pregnant! (I am definitely not) If I feel the need to binge or go off plan I am just going to watch that video!!

I'm not able to rejoin a group at the moment, for various reasons but mainly financial, and i will be doing SW on a budget much stricter than when I did it two years ago, which worries me a bit as I don't think I will be able to afford Alpen bars, muller lights, etc.

Anyway, thought I would post here to mark my beginning the journey again, and to confirm to myself that today is the start of a new chapter.

Off to read ALL THE THREADS to remind myself of all the yummy recipes and get in the zone. I can do this. I CAN do this. Right?!
 
Of course you can do it, sw doesn't have to be expensive if you plan ahead. Use 0% natural yoghurt or fromage frais (much cheaper) and throw in some frozen fruit and sweetener instead of mullers.

Thank you, good idea about the yoghurt. My lovely husband bought me a cappuccino and chocolate muller light (limited edition, I didn't know they existed!) as a treat for my first day back on plan, I just found it in the fridge and text him to ask if it is for me! I will enjoy that later. Planning is definitely key I think. I remember my favourite indulgence being some kind of mug cake, I think it was literally egg, sweetener and cocoa powder mixed in a mug and put in the microwave? With a dollop of fat free yog on top. Will have to see if I can confirm the recipe before I ruin too many eggs...
 
Hi I'm starting back on sw today at home on own to and on a budget for money,will you please let me no what's in that pudding I have such a sweet tooth lol good luck with your first week .

It's called cake in a cup and that is the recipe ;) whisk it really well tho. There's a full size cake for half a syn that is much the same and really good!
Is the muller the skinny cappuccino one? I am in much love with that and will cry if they don't continue it. I'm not big on most yoghurts but that one is awesome ;)

Hi your story is similar to mine I lost 2 stone after the birth of my son on slimming world.I got complacent and I have put more than two stone on.I'm starting today again from home.aldi is a good place to go if ur on a budget x

Yes it is the skinny cappuccino one. I haven't had it yet, saving it for my sweet craving after dinner.

I have had 7 syns so far today but neither of my healthy extras. Will put cocoa powder on my shopping list!!

Good luck and all the best on your journey. I was the same after my daughter I had put 2 stone on and managed to get back down to pre baby weight but then after two and a half years I'd put 3 stone on and was at my heaviest of 14 stone. I've been doing slimming world again now for 17 weeks and have lost 22lbs. You can do it. I did have a couple of bad weeks where I had gained a pound here and there because I'd got lazy but I'm getting there again. All the best.

Can you use just an options sachet with the cake or does it have to be cocoa powder? Roughly how much? What's the syns on cocoa powder?

I did exactly the same. Went back to work after maternity leave feeling amazing, my slimmest ever having lost over 3st. I've since put it all back on and more. Old habits, juggling home, work, family, etc.

So annoyed as vowed not to allow it to happen. I rejoined last week.

Good luck to you as well. It is frustrating that we have let this happen isn't it. But life happens and at least we are recognising it and dealing with it. Day 2 and I am doing ok so far and I have stocked up on SW food :)
 
I am a week in after rejoining having gained the 2 stone plus I lost. I feel the challenge but I remind myself "a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step".

Looking forward to he weight loss :)
 
Hi lilpixiesue... I'm in the exact same position having regained what I lost - sooo frustrated right now and really struggling to get back to being as disciplined and regimented as I was before. I'll start the day good (breakfast + lunch on plan) but by dinner will have failed the day again! I think attending group really helped...
