question for anyone doing Slimming world & xenical / Orlistat

I am going back on slimming word next week and also have an appointment at gp hoping she will prescribe me Xenical.

I have approx. 6-7 stone to loose - pretty good losses on VLCD(but put the lot back on) so going back to slimming world my losses average 1lb a week so hoping xenical can boost that a little bit. - plus a big detterant not to slip up and suffer the side effects

I love slimming world as I am crap at counting calories and it's so easy, I was wondering how much you have to adapt the plan to incorporate Xenical

Do you find there is a lot more planning to do or do you just avoid things completely? I used to do mainly green with a couple of red days (found extra easy hard and never lost)

Would really appreciate so answers, thanks

You shouldn;t have to adapt the plan at all as SW is a low fat diet, in fact I shouldn't think the tablets will be of any value other than acting as a deterent to going off plan because of the side effects. If you are going straight from a vlcd to sw without a period of refeeding you should be prepared that it may take a few weeks to adjust to normal eating again though

Thanks for the reply, any deterent would be good to be honest - most of the people I know are doing Rosemary conley or WW who take xenical and some have noticed a 1-2 lb boost weight loss.

I am not coming straight form a VLCD, not been on a 'diet' for a good 8 months now, so straight to Slimming world:)

I think you should just concentrate on SW and maybe forget about the tablets.

Honestly I can't recommend SW enough I've lost my weight so far on the EE plan and I find it fantastic. Yes you need to plan meals etc but once you get in the swing of things it becomes habit.

Best of luck xx

I've used xenical alongside SW. And have to say they work well together. I did use it as a deterrent because if you do eat too much fat then the result is horrific. But you only get the side effects if you don't watch what you eat. Nothing happens if you're good. I would just be careful with certain things like eggs. Free on SW but have a high fat content so in theory bad on xenical. Same with salmon. If you use processed foods and jars of sauces etc then just check the fat content otherwise go for it
