Hi there. I know what you mean as my head is definitely playing catch up with my body! I've lost just over 6st and have gone from a size 24 to a comfortable 14 and yet I still think of myself as much bigger than I am. Although I pick up the right size clothing when shopping, I still think can I get through that gap between tables, will my but fit on that chair or will that stool/garden chair take my weight. Although I still have approx another stone or so before I call target, what worries me is the thought that if I still see myself as big, will I ever be comfortable in my own skin and what will stop me putting it all back on? I hope my brain gets with the programme soon! Not sure what the answer is tho :-)

I'm the same, I've lost six and a half stone and I still think of myself as the size 22/24 I was before. The oh and other people tell me I look skinny but I don't always feel it. When I go shopping I look at the size 12's and think they'll never fit and I'm still surprised when they do.
What I found is if you have someone take a photo of you and look at it you'll see the difference then because you see what everyone else sees. Maybe when you reach target and you've been there a while it might sink in x

I'll have to try the photo idea barbette..anything is worth a try. On another thread recently I read someone saying something about the fact that overeating is a mental issue around body image in the same way that anorexia is (just different way of supposedly trying to 'cope' with those feelings) and I think I will have to start confronting the reasons why I see myself in a certain way so I don't slip backwards when I get to target. The idea that everything is sorted when we get to target IMHO is wrong and it's going to be another set of struggles!!

Being in target isn't easy, I sat at temporary target this year for health reasons and I found it in some ways harder than losing. What I meant it is if you're at a certain size constantly and not changing shape you've probably got a better chance of getting accustomed to your body image x

For me I imagine if I keep going to group each week after getting to target it'll hopefully keep me on track for long enough for my head to catch up with the rest of me :-) I
