Joining Slimming World today!

Hi there,

Well after trying and failing lots of different diets, I'm joining Slimming World today. I've read lots of comments about the foods that you can eat which the whole family can enjoy without having to weigh, count points/calories etc. Sounds excellent.

Looking forward to getting to know you all and losing a whole heap of weight in the process!

Hi Clare, welcome to SW and good luck! :) Oh, and feel free not to answer the weight and age question if you don't want to! :D

Hi Clare, I am a Clare too, spelt the same (best) way. WOOP Good luck on your first week, I am only on week 3 but loving it so far :D

Hi McNaughty/Clare,

I'm new too - never did SW before either (joined Wednesday)! Do you have anyone doing it with you? xxx

Hi Clare.
Welcome to SW & this forum, enjoy your journey & good luck!

Thank you all!

Looking forward to getting a profile set up.

I'm currently 19st 13lbs! Hoping to be a few pounds less on Friday.

Only started putting weight on in my 20s - was a size 8-10 before. Now size 24.

Stopped smoking, had 2 children and really just stopped caring or looking after myself.

However am now 37 and WILL be fabulous & fit by 40.

Hi Clare

Best of luck for tomorrow!

Well done on giving up smoking too. I piled on the weight after I quit but have just joined SW and have managed to get back on track.

Hi Clare,

I've joined last week too, my story is fairly similar to yours in that I gave up smoking nearly 2 years ago and have had 2 children in the last 4 years. I had a stroke last year aswell (sounds a lot worse than what it was!) so have been sat at home feeling sorry for myself and eating too much. I don't know what altered my mindset but suddenly I realised that I needed to do something to stop the scales march upwards!

I've never done SW before but I feel quite excited and motivated at the moment. I know I'm in this for the long haul - I've had too many dieting failures by trying to acheive quick weight loss, and then getting demotivated cos I can't stick to a VLCD or food restriction. I'm viewing SW as rebooting my attitudes to food and making sure myself and my family eat more healthily (even better that the other half doesn't realise he's on the SW diet yet, he's just appreciating all the meals I'm making for him!)

My weigh in is on Thursday and any loss will be fantastic but I'm hoping for a steady 1-2lb drop each week :)
