Help!!!!

Hiya I'm completely new to this and need help. I'm 20 and always been slim until I got depression and put on 5/6 stone! I've tried a lot of diets and this is last chance because I'm fed up of always trying and never succeeding. I want to lose up to 4 stone by June next year. I started slimming world 6 weeks ago and lost 2lb in my first week. Every week since that I have gained.. And haven't changed anything I'm doing. I'm exercising and when seeing older people losing a lot of weight each week and not doing any exercising is very disheartening!! I need encouragement. It's my 21st in jean and I would love to have lost a good amount of weight by then! I don't even want a. Aughts Christmas this year! I've also found out that I lose weight the weeks I'm not strict with the diet and when I am I gain weight..I really need help from people going through the same as me!!

First of all, this is not your last chance. If you were 98 years old it might be your last chance, but at 20 it is not your last chance for anything.

Secondly, if you give some information about what you are eating on here, there are lots of people who will be able to offer you advice. What does your consultant say?

You always say the right thing ;)

Personally if I've had continuous gains, I would look to change what I'm eating (even if the eating is the same the first week)

As the above post said, if you post a "typical day" we might be able to see any hidden horrors.

That's my thought we need more info, and if your constantly gaining something isn't right.

I'd take a look at all your meals and re-check everything you're eating, for example are you eating Alpen Lights as hexb & not Alpen bars, that sort of thing are you weighing hexs when needed.

If you post your diary we'll have a look for you.

Most important though speak to your C that is what she is there for.

Agree with the above posts ^^^

Interestingly you say you are exercising. I would like to know how what kind of exercise you are doing and the frequency as well as seeing your food diary then we can try and give you some feedback.

Sorry if I was vague.. And I'm still trying to understand how this website works! I've been eating a lot of super free foods but my gains isn't huge! I'm doing circuit type exercising as my C has been saying that it could be the build up of lactic acid in my body which takes a few weeks to sort itself out and start losing weight. I've also heard from other people that they were exercising and gaining and within 5 weeks the scales started showing the loses. Fingers crossed that next Monday will be a lose and not a gain..

I seem to have slower losses when I do exercise too, it will even itself out and the exercise will have other benfits like improving fitness/toning etc. Just stick with it and you will get there.

Hi

I'm sorry to hear about you having depression. I have joined and left Slimming World 6 times because of depression and I finally got that sorted and rejoined nearly 4 months ago. Without knowing it I had lost a stone since last year and altogether I've lost 4 1/2 stone, 2 on Slimming World.

When I first did some exercising, I put on 3lbs but was told it was normal. I couldn't do the exercise for 2 weeks and lost half a stone but then went back to the exercise and put on another 3lbs. I think it's your body retaining water because of the activity. I was told that I should carry on and it would sort itself out.

As it happened I can't do the exercise any more because my knee is very weak but if I had continued I would have seen the results after a few weeks.

I know it can be disheartening not to lose weight every week but I would say keep going and don't give up. You might find your clothes are looser and you will eventually lose the weight :)

Are you handing in your food diaries? They can be crucial to see if you are going off the plan even if you don't know it. Also try and have 10 syns a day so you aren't feeling deprived. I was told I could have 34 syns a day (!) but I stick to 20 and have had good results with that.

Please let us know how you are doing and feel free to pm me if you can on here if you fancy some support <3

Awwthank you that's such a lovely reply!! Really has made me motivated! I think I'm going to start giving in my diaries to see if I'm going wrong anywhere!!

I had a miss this week putting on a pound but I've been ill. I had my hissy fit and went flexible yesterday and had so much chocolate it's not funny so I'm back on track today with 2 chocolate bars in my desk but they are not going anywhere LOL!

Take care and I hope you have a BRILLIANT week :)
