Back to SW... Again! But this time feels different

So, hey! I’m Rachael, I’m 30 and a newlywed, I've always been over weight and tried several diets, many times before, slimming world is the one I come back to time and time again. I started 3 weeks ago, 2 of my friends where complaining about their weight (even though there about 8 stone lighter than me!) so the three of us started a competition, instead of buying each other Christmas presents we would put the money in a pot and the person who lost the most of weight would win the money, it was there idea and I kinda thought oh why not. Well 3 weeks late, I’ve lost just over a stone, one of my friends has lost 2 pounds and one has put 3 pounds on. When we started we were chatting daily about what we had eaten/what exercise we had done... exercise is like a swear word to me! I really enjoyed it but now they have both seems to have got bored and I could really do with the support!

Joining SW this time for unknown reasons feels different, I feel so committed and sure about it this time. Previous times dieting has felt like a chore, but I’m really enjoying this, enjoying cooking for me and my husband (who is being as supportive as a husband can me, but after all he is only a man!) we are trying new recipes and loving it.

I'm sure this is different and this time I can finally shift the weight, but I kinda need to let it out at times when it’s going good and other times when I’m struggling. Hence why I am starting this, whether people read it or not I don’t know BUT I'm gunna give it a try! So if you are reading and do want the same support then please say hi!

Its weird isn't it, I can't explain why its different, it just is! My husband thinks I am crazy! But i def think there are alot more recipes to try now, def helping!

Thank you for subscribing! I'm not really sure how this thing works!

How are you getting on with SW, whens WI? Hows your day been?

I know what you mean with it being different. This time I "want" to make changes where's before it was I "should" which was never the right motivation drive to stick to the plan.

I did wonderfully on SW when I was pregnant but I've never been successful simply losing.

I started 20th Oct and in my 3rd week. I've lost 2.6lbs which I'm chuffed with.

Re eating I've not had a great day (ended up in the pub) but not fretting as life sometimes doesn't play by SW ways.

Sorry I've rambled on lol

Are you going to class or doing it from home?

No I'm doing it at home, naughty! But SW has had enough money off of me over the years! What about you? I'm still on doing WI once a week, Tuesday mornings! Ah so we're both 3 week in, that's good, we can be progress buddies! I've got a quorn beef hot pot in the oven, smells good, my husband (David) doesn't finish work till 7 so its slowly cooking away in the oven!

I see you are from Essex, I am literally a walk away from Essex! My husband works in Essex and I am a big TOWIE Fan! well not that big, but I watch it! Lol

welcome to the forum Rachel.

like you, i have been back and forth to slimming world more times than jordan to the botox clinic!

and i also feel they have had enough of my money over the years so am doing it from home. my weigh in is a monday morning.

best of luck on your journey xx

Thanks Greeneye, you 2! I def believe SW can work but I've got all the books so why pay the blooming £5 a week! How did you get on on Monday?x

We live in london (just!!) although all my friends from back home (sussex) tease me its Essex..... I'd love to be in proper Essex though! Do you sound like them?! that would be amazing!!! HA!

Indeed! We all mess up from time to time, thats what makes us human, but its how we deal with it I guess, dont let it get you down, tomorrow is a new day!

Yes, I manage a sheltered housing scheme for over 55's, its good and a lot of working from home which means I can stay on plan, which really helps!

that's good, working from home has its ups and downs! Sometimes being so close to the TV/fridge/bed isn't that great! lol

Are you doing anything exciting tonight?
