Returning (again!)

I think I have joined SW (online and in group) a million times (!) but I have rejoined again for the very last time - I am determined!

I am 32, and live with my husband and gorgeous two year old little boy in Somerset. I have always struggled with my weight and have lost and gained weight oodles of times. I am currently the heaviest I have ever been and have decided that now is the time to lose it all once and for all. I have set my goal weight at 9st 7lb which means I have 4 1/2 stone to lose (which sounds very depressing out loud :-( ) and I need all the support and motivation I can get.

It would be great to get to know you all and perhaps find a buddy so we could motivate each other :)

Hi mdymond, I joined online yesterday too. I have probably exactly the same to lose as you. I would like to be 9 1/2 or 10 stone and have about 3 - 4 stones to get there. I am 52 and have been on SW twice before and lost about 2 stones each time. I live with my hubby 40 -toyboy! and my son 22. Neither of them have a weight problem so they will just have to cope with SW meals now. I love SW because it does retrain you. I would also love to buddy up with you and we can help each other x

Hi Broxi,

My name is Michelle :) whereabouts are you? Although I have done SW lots of times before, I have decided to pretend I haven't and read everything from scratch again. It's funny what you think you know and remember, but turns out you are actually wrong!!!

Have you started properly today? My weigh in is on Saturday.

Looking forward to getting to know you and getting to target together :)

Hi Michelle, I just wrote you a big post and I don't know where it went! Anyway, I am from just outside Glasgow. I started yesterday but haven't really stuck to the 1/2 superfree which I think is very important. I too am going to read all the stuff again as though I am starting from scratch as probably picked up too many bad habits along the way. I'm also struggling as giving up eating loads of chocolate and was a bit addicted. How are you getting on? Have you been good? Had any problems? etc x

Hi,

I've rejoined again to today. been hovering around the 12st 7 mark for about a year now (give or take half a stone!) and I really want to shift the weight now as I get married in 6 months :-/

I'd love to hear how you get on and maybe buddy up when we are having bad days and thinking of reaching for the chocolate!

Jess x

I always find adding extra veg quite difficult at the beginning - although I know it makes all the difference. Wine is my biggest weakness (not that I am an alcoholic!) and that just piles the pounds on. I am trying to cut it out completely before christmas but as December kicks in, so do all the chrimbo parties so we'll see!! I think I am doing ok at the moment, but motivation is always quite high at the beginning :)

I have fully planned tomorrow, lamb stew in the slow cooker ready to turn on in the morning when I go to work, so I am hopeful for a good day!

Hi Jess

It's soooo frustrating to see the same pounds come off and go on again isn't it?!! But massive congratulations on your upcoming wedding and a great motivator for you :) how are you finding it so far this time around?

I would love to share the good and bad days, I find it difficult to find people around me who get it. We will get there this time!!

Michelle xx

It sure is, I don't know how many times I've lost that same stone to then lose motivation and put most of it back on again. I'm hoping the 6 month wedding deadline will give me the kick I need!

My first day was fine and i'm feeling quite positive as i've planned my evening meals out for the next day or two as that is the time when i usually end up eating something bad. How was your first day? What day is are you going to weigh in as we'll have to all update on our progress! xx

I think I'm doing ok so far - started on Saturday - and my motivation is quite high, but it always is at the beginning! I am not sure if I am completely insane starting again just before christmas but I figure that I will weigh less come January if I do it rather than if I don't!

What days do you both weigh in? I'm doing mine on a Saturday morning :-/

How are you feeling this morning? Fully planned for the day?

I've just had muller light and banana for breakfast, I have a ham salad for lunch and lamb stew for tea. I always have milk as my HEA but I haven't planned my B yet so if I get hungry I still have something I can eat!!!!!

I do struggle with salad dressing though, what do you put on salad - I just can't eat it plain :-(

Good luck ladies - loving the sound of all the motivation!!

You can get syn free dressings for salad - think most of the fat free ones are. Or extra light mayo is very low and you could mix it with fromage frais to make it go further?

Hi Ladies,
I am another Michelle!!
Joined online yesterday with a colleague at work.
I have ideally 2 stone to loose but want to do it stone at a time!!

So I am going to have Thursday morning as my weigh in day as I signed up Wednesday night.

Bad timing though as its my hubbys birthday Sunday and we are off to his parents in Devon for the weekend. She always likes to feed us yummy food & pour wine down my throat which I suppose is not a bad thing but not helpful when you have just re-joined. So my plan is to stay on track as much as I can but not beat myself up about going off plan. It is only 1 weekend!!!!

Had a Banana & a fat free yogurt for my breakfast, about to munch on some grapes for my mid morning snack :)

M x

Thanks Jen3 - I will have to hunt out some of the fat free dressings. I love salad, but I always cover it in fatty dressings, which defeats the object of eating them!

Hi Michelle - nice to meet you!! Sounds like you are having a good start to the day today? Birthdays only come once a year, so enjoy it this weekend and then draw a line under it for next week :) and if you are weighing on Thursday you will have a good part of the week to undo any wine drinking that may occur this weekend!

I am off to a wedding on Saturday, which will be lovely, but I have decided to drive so that at least takes the alcohol temptation away!

I am starving today, I am going to blame the cold weather - off to make myself a hot drink to see if that helps. I always find being at work worse, as I think I concentrate on feeling hungry - even when I am not sure that I actually am :-\

I am the same today, all I want to do is eat!!!
Unfortunatley all my options at the moment come out of a vending machine..............I will be strong!!!! lol

Hi everyone. I have about 2st to lose.. Not going to group or doing it online, I'm just on here and doing all the recipes I find.. I'm hoping that goes well for me.

I'm also in Somerset x

Hi Sookie

Someone from near me :) how long have you been following the plan? Although I know it inside out, I still think I need the structure & discipline of online or group - I really wish I had more will power!!!!

I only joined yesterday so I'm going to wait until next Saturday to weigh in as I will struggle to get to class in the week.

I know the feeling about temptation, I was supposed to pop to the supermarket after work to pick up a few things but I was so hungry so decided to come home first and eat otherwise it would of ended with me buying something I shouldn't. Just an average day in the life of a dieter!

Welcome Sookie - have you done Slimming World before?

Hi all, it is nice to have similar people starting at the same time. I have had a good day today although I always eat loads and wonder if I can really lose weight. So far I haven't lost but my weigh in is Monday so I will see. good luck to us all x

Morning all!!

How is everyone today? My first weigh in tomorrow - eek - so I had a sneaky peak this morning and scales show a 3lb loss :) if that shows in the morning I will be very happy!!

Actually feel a bit more motivated to be really good today to make it even more tomorrow - here's hoping.

Marred very slightly by my two old being a horror this morning getting ready so I now feel like I've done a couple of rounds in the ring!! Kids huh!!

Years on and off, by put decided this times it stays off... Wine is my biggest down fall.. So trying to limit it to the day I get weighed which is a Saturday. X
