Hi everyone
I'm slowly losing the plot today. I have a long history of yoyo dieting and various diets over the years. I restarted slimming world 4 weeks a go and have lost 12lbs. Yay! I don't usually stick at it for this long, I usually manage a couple of weeks here and there.
I'm really trying to look at it for the long haul this time.
Anyway a combination of not doing a food shop and being on nights means I've well and truly been off plan for three days now, culminating in a massive takeaway last night. I've been promising myself to just forget it and go back on plan as normal, go to group and deal with the consequences by the little voices are whispering as they do. I've blown it now I might as well eat what I want.....if I don't eat anything until weigh day I might be alright.....skip group no one with know....
I need some sensible advice please people xx

Sometimes life gets in the way. Birthday parties, unexpected meals out, Christmas, stress etc. The key is how you handle these situations. So if it's a takeaway then pick a low syn one rogan josh or black bean chicken for example. Then instead if thinking 'oh sod it might as well have what I fancy start again another day', why not think yep one meal off plan but controlled and now to being back on plan for the rest of the day? If you don't lose that week don't beat yourself up. It's a lifestyle change not a quick fix to lose weight and it can take time to lose old habits and change set of mind. You've done fantastic already what's a few days off plan compared to what you have already achieved?! Keep going :) x

If its a long term plan, then you need to know that stuff like this happens, it takes ages to get your head round it though! i remember my first blow out, i felt awful and so guilty, and only pulled out of it as i was working with a lot of other SW members who helped me get back on plan. It put me behind a week after a gain, but i learned a valuable lesson and once you see what that blowout means on the scale, you'll start to think 'is it worth it?'

don't get me wrong, I still have blips, but it gets easier each time you do. i have a history of my weight going up and down, binging, emotional eating, the lot! and I still do all of those at times...but i don't rely on them anymore...breaking lifelong behaviour patterns won't happen overnight! we are just taking the scenic route to target, and you know how to lose weight as you've lost a fab 12lbs so far, so you have the tools there...mind over matter now hon!

Just remember, that the longer you remain in this state of mind, the more you are undoing your hard work. taking that first step to control yourself again is hard, and you might slip up again...but its a learning curve, and even 1 meal on plan is better than none! x

That's brilliant thank you. Back on plan as of yesterday and seem to be in the swing of things again. I really like what you said about even one meal on plan is better than none. I'm going to stick that on my fridge :) x
