Hey I'm 10 St 12 and I'd love to lose a stone or even half a stone. I'm getting married in Feb and I need to get weight down..I tried slimming world before and lost half a stone and decided it wasn't for me. Any tips... can it be done? What should I be eating eg if I have a veg omlette do I need 1/3 beside it.. same with spag bol?

Yes you can do it!!!

You need to make sure 1/3 of your meal is superfree so in theory if its cooked within the meal thats fine (though doesnt hurt to bung a bit more superfree on the side). For example if you had spag bol and you made a salad to go with it you would need less spag bol to satisfy your hunger therefore reducing the amount of free foods and making losses better

Yes it can be done but you have to be prepared to make changes whether it be meals or snacks.

If you're following EE then yes its vital to work in the 1/3 superfree. I'm not a salad person so I always try to add cooked veg and if you make Spag Bol with lots of Veg and add a side of mushrooms you can be content you've met the 1/3.

I'm not sure.i don't think I got the hang of it the first time around. I'm also afraid that I wouldn't be getting big losses as I don't have much to lose. Also every time I eat a yogurt do I need superfree with it??

Have you got the books? A good reading session would be a great place to start & get your head in the game.
I'd also follow other people's food diaries, and start one of your own on here if you have time- people will let you know if you're going wrong.
I started with 1.5-2st to lose, and my losses have been good when I've stuck to plan, though never huge (maybe 3lb was my biggest?).
A stone in 6wks is often achievable if you're sticking to plan- though I should put a disclaimer here in that everyone loses at different rates and we've got Xmas coming!
Re the yoghurt, I'd be tempted to eat superfree first, then eat the yoghurt if you're still hungry!

Great advice Rosie pops! I have the books so ill give another read.. It defo is a bad time to be starting but it's now or never it's.something I really need to do. How much have u lost? X

I started at 12st2lb and am currently around 10st7lb. I've had a lot on lately so been focussing on maintaining! It's been nice to have a little less pressure to lose.
I don't think there's ever a particularly good time to start, just get stuck in. If you can accept that it probably won't be a totally smooth journey I think you'll be fine :)
Try and take it meal by meal, day by day and do the best that you can. Hopefully by the time Xmas is over with you'll be familiar with the plan and ready to ramp it up! X

Hey! It's as good a time as any to start I think and at the very least you can guarantee that you won't finish the year any heavier than you are just now! If ur anything like me I can quite easily pile on the pounds at this time of year!! Good luck in your first week. I started 3 weeks ago and have lost half a stone, I'm hoping to try and lose the other half before Xmas and then try and maintain over the festive weeks. Think how good you'll feel in Jan rather than having to deal with a Christmas gain!! X

Wow both of you! Huge losses! That really gives me hope.. do u use all ur syns daily or what treats do u like to have??

I definitely use all my syns every day lol. I've been maintaining for a few weeks because there's been a few social events that I've wanted to enjoy without worrying about syns.
I usually use a couple on butter/ketchup, crisps, hot chocolate/chocolate bar in the eve, or I save them during the day and have a couple of martinis in the evening x

Ok I was good all day and had gluten free spaghetti with veg tinned tomatoes and now I look 9 months pregnant!!!

Totally possible!
I joined as I wanted to lose weight in a short space of time - starting at 10st13 so almost the same as yourself, and had my half stone award within 4 weeks. I lost 4.5lbs the first week and 0.5lbs the second week, 1.5 the next week and 1lb the next!

My tip with the spag bol is to put loads of grated carrot into the mince, you don't even notice it is there and it and the tomatoes can make up your 1/3 superfree!

Wow well done spo that's amazing and a great tip about the spag bol.... great idea thank you!!! Any other tips on how u lost each week?

HI I have just gone back to classes, have been on and off at home for ages and just thought if I wait till after xmas to rejoin I will potnetially end up putting loads on over the festive period. So I may still put on now but Im hoping to limit the damage! Good luck.

I just religiously stuck to the plan! Wrote down everything I ate, it was the only way I could stop myself going over my daily syn allowance, and was prepared for a big loss in the first week then smaller ones. I don't have much time for exercise so I get out for a walk every lunchtime at work so at least I'm doing something.
