No weight loss first week - star week as well!

So I joined SW last week and had my first proper weigh in yesterday. Am absolutely gutted that I stayed the same. I was 100% on plan. My consultant has my diary and will look at it for me and text me tomorrow (hopefully!). It is my 'star week' this week - could that have affected my loss? Thanks.
 
Star week can really have an affect on your weight loss, not for everyone but it does happen. Next time if you like it, try drinking some herbal tea's (peppermint and green tea are great for bloat and getting rid of water retention)
It'll show on the scales next week, don't worry x
 
So disheartening for you. If you've been properly on plan I'm sure it will show next week
 
I was the same stuck to it 100% first week walked everything and put up half pound !

I done 4 sp days the 2nd week and lost 7lb ! Thrilled so obviously was just catching up didn't show in scales first week

Your star week can definitely affect your weight loss, hopefully the scales will catch up next week. Are you drinking enough water? I drink lots of peppermint tea, as tink86 said.
 
I agree with all the comments above.
Also, some people have delayed losses/gains (I know I do) It doesn't necessarily show the weigh in after you've started, it can happen the following week. For example, if I go out for drinks one weekend, and weigh in on a Monday, I don't always see the gain until the second Monday afterwards. It's been the same with losses too, sometimes I don't see it until a couple of weigh in's later. (I'm hoping that make sense!! :) )
 
Poor you. Star week does definitely affect weight loss, as I'll be finding out tomorrow night :( Keep at it this week, and hopefully you'll have a nice loss next week to make up for it. As others have said, though, post your food diary and we will have a look through it for you x

Hey, I'm new to SW as only joined last Wednesday.. still getting my head around how the plan actually works.
what does star week mean?
I get weighed on Wednesday night, and my scales are already saying I have lost 7 pounds. (I hope this is the case!)

I'm not used to these kinda diets at all, as I lost all my weight with a VLCD x
 
Star week is the week that you have your period x

Are you doing Slimming World or Cambridge xNae, as you are posting in both and claiming to be doing both?
 
I'm not claiming anything? I am doing both :)
Joined SW last Wednesday. Adjusting to the difference of weight loss plans at the moment, still on my shakes, but using the SW guide in regards to the free foods and other things I can have. Yesterday I had an entirely SW day, where as Friday I was on my shakes. I'm just doing a combo of the both.

Told my consultant at SW what I am doing and she said whatever works for me and to see how my first week goes..
hopefully i'll grasp the SW concept more within the next few weeks :)
 
it is kind of confusing to read your posts xnaenae, as you say in the Cambridge forum that you are hating the first three days of the diet and hoping to be in ketosis tomorrow. Yet you have done SW yesterday.

Good luck with Slimming World as that seems to be where you are heading.
 
I followed SW yesterday, but cut all carbs out of my diet. There for I should still reach ketosis?

I don't mean to confuse anyone.
 
Hi I know it is disheartening not losing or slightly gaining as some have said. I'm on my third week and on the first week I stayed the same. I was gutted but I knew it would eventually show. I did feel so much slimmer after eating the SW way after so much Christmas dining too. I was actually shocked at the scales. I just stuck in and have now lost 3 lbs then 2 lbs the week after. I have never been one to loose massive amounts so I am just pleased it's working albeit eventually ;)

Stick in there and it will come off x
 
Thanks for the replies, I totally forgot I posted this! Had my second weigh in last night and I'm very happy that I lost 3lbs! Looks like my "maintain" was simply down to it being star week. I've been 100% on plan so hoping to continue steadily losing
