SW on prescription....

Hi everyone. Can anyone please help me regarding on how I can get my Slimming World on presriptions please. I've mentioned this to my Gp but he said he doesn't know about any scheme for him to presribe it for me. My consultant just says that Gp needs to contact SW headoffice. Which I can't see my Gp to do. If anyones getting it on presription can you please let me know how I need to get mine too please. Thanks in advance for any replies X
I'm willing to to do SW & not to hop out to have the Op as a quick fix. As I know they don't always work either. But I know SW does..
It's just that I can't afford to go to groups as I'm on a very low budget & not too mobile to go out X

I think nurses and health practitioners can refer too...might be worth asking somebody else at your practice if they've bought into the referral system?
How does Slimming World on Referral work?

It varies from place to place. My local NHS offered me Weight Watchers

Not everywhere does Slimming World on referal, it used to depend on the PCT and so I imagine now will depend on the CCG's as they replaced PCT's. I got slimming world on referral a couple of years ago and unless it has changed drastically the places that do do it only offer it to new members not existing members and the NHS will only pay for 12 weeks to get you started (some areas will offer an extra 12 weeks if you have lost a certain percentage of weight in that 12 weeks) and then they feel you should either know the diet or pay for it yourself. It would look like your area doesn't offer it if the GP doesn't know about it.
