Hello everyone! I just joined Minimins.Com I joined SW on Monday. I have been following the EE diet. I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing. I'm clear on the healthy a's and b's and syns. I have been eating the recommended foods. I'm worried that the medication I am on may stop me losing weight. Has anyone heard of anyone on methotrexate which slows the metabolism and suppresses the immune system not losing weight? I'm more hungry and eating far more than I did before I started the diet? Is that normal? Replies appreciated.

Hi Watwobble, don't know about how your meds will affect your weightless but there's only one way to find out and that's by sticking to plan and seeing what happens. Good luck!

Welcome! If your medication slows metabolism, then you will lose weight more slowly, I expect, but if you stick to plan then you will definitely lose weight. It's a great plan! Read, read and re-read your books. It seems complicated at first, but it will soon sink in!

Hi Watwobble and you are very welcome here on Mini's. It's a fab site, with loads of encouragement, friendship, recipes, good advice and fun! You've definitely come to the right place.

Good luck with your weight loss. I, too, take Methatrexate and I cah honestly say, when I am sticking religiously to plan, it has never affected my weight loss and I've been on it for about 3 years. In fact, a few weeks ago, I lost 9 lbs in one week! Couldn't believe it and had to step back on the scales just to make sure I'd read them correctly! Unfortunately, that doesn't happen often but it just shows, Methatrexate does not affect weight loss - but my self-sabotage does!!

Good luck and have fun exploring this incredible site.

    Kathy x

Hi watwobble. I am not on your meds but on other meds that slow metabolism, make you feel hungry. I have just returned to SW After being unwell but can honestly say SW is the best plan I have followed and I loose weight when I stick to plan. I have lost 8lb in one week before!
As for eating more than ever before yes I feel that's normal. As I said This is my first week back and I have not stopped eating! It was the same wen I started last time. I still lost 9lb in the first fortnight despite stuffing my face with food on plan! It settles after the first few weeks as your body gets used to the yummy foods. Weigh in for me tonight eek! Good luck on your weight loss journey :-) x
