do you use all your syns

just wondering do ye use all ur syns everyday or only part use em. the last few days ive used as little as possible as (under 6) tryin to loose what i gained last week only to jump on the scales this morning to see ive gained over another pound since wed.:cry:
 
I usually find, for some unknown reason, if i deprive myself of syns then I don't lose as well!
 
I usually have between 10-12, as I find that works for me. Like FloralsandTea I find if I restrict myself too much I don't lose. Last week I averaged lower than usual at 8 a day, entirely by accident, and didn't lose any more than usual as a result.
 
I consciously cut down this week in the Hope that it would speed up weight loss. I only cut down to around 8-10 but this week I have only lost 1.25lbs. Don't know if it made a difference or not. I feel more virtuous when I cut them back but I don't think I'll bother in future. maybe save dropping them back to a time when my weight loss reaches a plateau?
 
I have the most Syns after Weigh in and then taper them down to 5 syns per day.

I know some of you may be horrified to read this but I genuinely have trouble spending mine as I don't enjoy the same foods I used to. Confectionary is generally too sweet for me these days so I tend to stay away from bars of chocolate etc.
 
@phoneix_girl I wish I could say I could stay away from chocolate lol! I have all my syns on a wed night after weigh in and on a Saturday night to il have a bit of a treat and cut back during the week to maybe 5 syns
 
I've just started back, but certainly plan to use most if not all of mine. What I am trying to do though is think about what i use them on - I used to use them on wine etc, but that really scuppers me (not the syns in it per se, but the other things that go along with over indulging). Planning to use them on more healthy treats and additions to meals this time round (famous last words LOL)
 
I don't tend to use mine, I don't feel I need to, although know they are there if I want them. If I do use them, it's more for things like butter on a jacket potato, or spoonful of mayonnaise here and there etc. I don't feel deprived by not having them personally, although it's different for everyone. Only day I've really used them this week was for a cup of hot chocolate.
 
Syns are part of the plan and are there to be used. If you don't use them, you could say you are not following the plan 100%
I never understand why people think that cutting down on syns will help their losses, they are a part of the plan, just as free foods and Healthy Extras are but we rarely see people cutting these out of the plan! I think its because some people see syns as 'naughty' food but they don't have to be used on treat foods, you can use them for things like gravy, mayo, ketchup etc. Of course its up to you what you use them for...just use them, they are part of the plan.
 
I always use mine. Usually approx 10 per day at least, if I don't use the entire 105 across the week.
Mostly because I can't cut them out completely, I feel deprived and then go completely off plan! But partly beucase I've known of so many people to avoid using them one week, and they may have a great loss, so they don 't use them the next week and either gain or stay the same.
As much as eating everything on the plan that is free is great, your body needs the fats/sugars/etc. that you may get from your syns. Like lentil2 says, incorporate them into your meals if you don't want sweets or chocolate, or any alcohol. They're there to be used for a reason :):)
 
It's interesting that those in the thread who aren't planning on using (m)any syns are relatively new to SW, when determination is at is highest! Once you start to flag, and you have been on SW for some months (or years!) you'll probably realise that actually, life will be a little more bearable with those syns to look forward to! A balanced diet is one that includes a few treats and I think that denying yourself little treats will lead to feelings of deprivation in the long term and it just isn't sustainable. I gave up chocolate completely (for almost 2 years) when I followed Rosemary Conley. I lost 6 stone fairly rapidly and felt great. Then I succumbed to the biggest chocolate binge ever and just couldn't stop- it went on for months. Since starting SW in 2011, I have had a little bit of chocolate every day and very rarely feel the urge to splurge now!
 
I use my syns. I generally keep them for after dinner, but sometimes use a few during the day. Some days I use around 5, other days 15. I don't usually plan them, they're for a little what I fancy!
 
my syns vary from day to day some i use only 5 others i use almost all 15. i normally keep them for the evening to have my CHOCOLATE as im a chocoholic :giggle: but my latest craving is heating pink n whites in the microwave 2.5syns each and are deadly for that sugar rush
 
I have around 10 syns a day i use them mostly for treats a lil bit of chocolate and a hot chocolate most nights or ill make a pud i need something sweet each day or i wud fall off plan
So syns are what keep me on track x
 
I don't really have a set amount that I use, obviously I will use more on the weekends because I like to treat myself! :)
