Just got back from group and feeling meh by another 1lb loss. Since start Jan I have lost 4.5lb which isn't much considering some people have already got their stone and a half awards. I am really sticking to plan and group leader says at least I am losing but I am starting to feel like what's the point! Sorry guys.......just needed a rant!

I know how you feel. You work hard all week, sticking to plan and then only a small loss. But it is a loss, not a gain! Try to keep positive! I used to do the Dukan diet and would lose about a pound a day so SW is tortuously slow compared to that but, hopefully more maintainable. Don't give up, keeping coming here for chats and support, we can do it together!

Why don't you post a couple of days of food diary and there's maybe a few tweaks to help speed it up. It is frustrating especially if you are sticking to plan! x

The point can be seen in my signature. By the time I reached target I averaged 1lb a week, some weeks it was more, some less but it doesn't matter as long as it gets you where you want to be. And sorry but I disagree with people who call one pound a small loss, it's not, it's pretty much exactly what we should aim to lose for healthy, sustainable weight loss

i only wish i could like this post more than once.

I always love seeing that picture of a hand holding a lump of fat that is equivalent to a lb of fat and it makes you see that a lb is a decent amount!

I know exactly how you feel! I'm a slow loser despite sticking 100% to plan, being careful with portions etc etc. And I see people regularly having a day or two a week accidently off plan and still losing as much as me and more. So I think, why bother? It's so frustrating. And disheartening.

But... I try to remember that the advice is slow losses are more sustainable and you're more likely to keep it off. And I like the flexibility of SW and not being hungry, I wouldn't last the distance on a stricter regime that got me faster losses. And I try very hard not to compare with others, if it's working for me, albeit slowly, that's good enough.

I agree with Nemesis, post your food diary, we might spot something that's slowing you down?

I'm with Nemisis, I like that picture of the hand holding the 1lb of fat for inspiration. Of what I've lost I mean! :)
And like Patchwork says, 1lb a week is a nice steady weight loss.
I've always been one for 'smaller' losses, generally no more than 2lb a week. Don't be too disheartened, you will get to your target, and losing the weight slower makes it easier to keep off in the future so they say :)

I always like to think of "only a pound" as two packs of horrible disgusting lard!!!

A girl was saying the same in our group the other night about it only been 1lbs but you still allowing your self syns and carbs i know other diets are more strict and yes it might come of a lot faster but with slimming world you never go hungry and you allowed a lot more then other diets so 1lbs a week is good slow and steedy lbs turn into stones :) that's why iv been able to stick to it for 3 years because i haven't deprived my self from anything its more healthy eating then what it is a diet x
