does any body have this problem and how do they cope with it , i have been following sw for a few weeks at home a loseing good amounts, 1st 5lb, joined a class last week and followed plan exactly and gained 3.5 lbs. gutted to say the least. Hubby follows it with me and lost 2 lb eating the same stuff !!!! so i know its not the plan at fault, my gp says i have lymphodeama in my left leg and as it was very swollen i suspect this is the reason for the gain.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated x

Probably something you have covered but are you drinking enough water? And/or is it a * week? Are you using your syns? Eating enough?

Stick to it, it may just be a bump, all our journeys are different and men do seem to loose it more easily especially at the beginning so try not to compare yourselves.

Chin up and good luck!

yes, the fluid in your leg will make you weigh more. It's like getting on the scale holding jugs of water! Try not to be put off, follow your doctors advice on how to treat it and keep up with the plan, once it goes down you'll see the difference on the scales. Hope you get better soon!

I don't know much about lymphodeama specifically, but any swelling can make a huge difference to your weight. I had hip surgery a while ago and my leg was extremely swollen. When I got on the scales after three days in hospital (eating hardly anything) I had put on nearly three quarters of a stone - I almost passed out from shock! But ten days later everything was back to normal.

Like FloralsAndTea said, just stick to the plan, try and ignore the scales when the lymphodeama is particularly bad, and you will see a downward trend over time. It might take you a bit longer than others, but you will get there in the end!

(and obviously follow any advice from your doctor)

Yes I have it as well in my boob after breast cancer , that swells up and goes heavy , not funny either so I feel your pain x
