Feeling like I have so far to go... :(

I know it seems silly because there are people here with much more to lose than I have.

I have 2st 6lbs to lose and I have been trying as hard as I can to take it one day at a time, but it's just not in my nature.

I keep failing and getting back on it, then failing again and it's really starting to drag me down.

Inspirational words??

Inspirational words are great - but it has to come from within. If you aren't bothered, you won't do it. it's all down to you. You just have to decide what you want.

I have about 11 stone to lose so it's a long long journey but I know deep inside myself that I HAVE to do this. I want it, I need it, and that is my fire.

Good luck, hope you find your fire :) xxx

Have a look through the inspirational photos threads.

And remember, start something today, and in a year you'll realise why you did.

Much of the above!
I like to think of it like this:
The time will pass anyway.
So you can be "on it" and get your weight down. Or the time will go by anyway, and you'll be no different except probably annoyed/disappointed that you could have been on your way to target.
Also, sw realistically isn't that hard to follow (I know some people have deeper issues with food and eating, and this may not apply to everyone, but bear with me). You never have to be hungry or rule any particular food out, just learn moderation. So keep going, one day at a time :) x

I know looking at the bigger picture can be really daunting, no matter how much you have to lose, it feels like it's going to take forever and, if we're honest, we all want it yesterday. The best way is to break it down into small manageable chunks and concentrate only on your next goal.

For example; you only have 8lb to go for both your stone award and to get into the 12's, which will feel great, initially just aim for that goal, tell yourself you 'only' have 8lb to lose and then when you reach it set the next one and just focus on that again.

It is hard to stay on track, but just try to follow the plan the best you can and just keep on trying and remember;

"If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results."

Good luck. :)

When I started I had 4st to lose and i thought it would take me forever but I had a goal set and that was to be at target for summer. So i fully immersed myself into the plan and managed to lose a stone a month. I've now been at target since May 2014 and haven't looked back since.

If you want something bad enough then you'll do it. Set yourself a target and go for it

I know your impatience well... I am like that too. If I haven't lost three stone in three weeks I normally give up. I have been trying to lose weight for over 20 years and I got to the point where I was so sick and fed up with it. I was constantly setting myself up to feel disappointed in myself.

This time, I am focusing on one day at a time. Literally. I bought a nice journal and at the end of the day I list every little step I have done that day that was a movement in the direction of my weight loss goal. This makes every day feel important - and I can see what progress I have made daily.

Last night's entry said: Followed SW EE plan. Took dog for an hour walk in the sunshine. Had frozen grapes as snack whilst watching TV rather than junk food. Planned meals for tomorrow. Took ironing upstairs in three loads so extra body magic climbing up the stairs. Hoovered through house - more body magic. Replaced one cup of coffee with herbal tea. Drank two litres of water. Had a relaxing bubble bath this evening, rather than turning to food for relaxation. Looked at size 12 clothes in wardrobe for further motivation. Looking forward to weigh in tomorrow.

I can't look past one day as I am too impatient. But those one days soon build into a week and with some determination, this time, I will get to goal.

Good luck hon. You CAN do it. By Mid-Summer you could be at goal and so thrilled that March and April and May will be a distant memory. XX

Thank you all sooo much - it has honestly helped. I am going to get a journal like you said Pink, and keep up with it and keep writing in small achievements every day, then when I have days like yesterday I can read back on it and remind myself why I am doing this!!

Hippopotamum, you're right I've only 8lbs to go to get into the 12's, and that would really be a massive achievement, I remember how good it felt getting down into the 13's so I'm really going to try and get down to the 12's by the end of April :)

Again, thanks everyone xxxxxx

It can seem daunting, but you need to really want it. As someone else has said, don't look at the whole journey, cut it up into smaller targets. I did that, no mini target is ever more than 7lbs away, usually less. It can be getting to your next stone zone, a half stone award, your club 10, fitting into a certain pair of jeans, etc.

if you give up now, how will you feel in 6 months time? Will you be heavier than your starting weight? If you keep going losing 1lb a week, in 6 months you will have lost 26lbs, which is almost 2 stone.

I haven't seen these. I could do with the motivation - just wondering whether you have a link to the thread?

Thank you! Xx

Halokelly, you have this, I kind of feel the same I have approx. 5st to lose and looks impossible but then I read stuff on here that others have done and give myself a slap, going to be hard but its do-able. you got this ;)

Hello pink, your post struck a cord with me and I think that too sounds like me, if not lost 3stone in 2 days I get quite deflated, so, like you just going to take it a day at a time. X
