Yesterday in class my consultant was talking an saying you get a good weight lose when you start because you eat more then u gradually stop eating as much as when u first started which I think is true but I'm now thinking maybe I should eat my 3 meals an add more snacks in between to see if it makes a difference it's just sometimes I feel more like a pig on s/w when I don't stop eating if in a day I have breakfast fruit an yoghurt or omlette an beans then bits of chicken an fruit lunch a jacket with tuna an salad then I had sausage mash onions an broccoli plus my Allen light bars I felt greedy but dose it really make a difference if you eat this well???????

They hey do say eat yourself thin?

Oh oh an in not talking about eating when fall just the right amounts all during the day

I'm not sure I understand what your consultant means. Many people feel they are eating more when they first start SW, but because of the emphasis on fruit and veg, together with measured quantities of the Healthy Extra choices and Synned items and the changes in cooking methods SW introduces you to, they are actually taking in fewer calories than before they started, hence the weight loss. As you lose weight, your body requires fewer calories (because a lighter body takes less effort to move) and so your appetite should decrease to match.

I wouldn't add snacks for the sake of eating more. If you're not hungry, you don't need them! We snack more now than we did just a decade or so ago and there is an opinion that it's the snacking which has helped give rise to the obesity 'crisis'. If you must snack, then stick to Speed fruit and veg or your Synned items as much as possible.

After swimming she gets home an picks at a chicken that's with out her lunch an as she said if uyou only have a sandwich for lunch are you going to put enough free foods init? See if I eat a omlette at breakfasr I would skip lunch an just wait till dinner when not doing slimming world I wouldn't bother with the 3 meals what she means by eating less is we slip back to our old ways where we don't eat as much an think that's where I go wrong an need to snack more on fruit an bits try boost my weight loss because it's at points like I then get hungry an eat the wrong stuff if I was not on s/w

I must say, when I first joined SW many, many moons ago, the emphasis was definitely eat as much as you want...non of this, eat until you're full!! If you were struggling to lose weight the question was always, are you eating enough, not, are you stopping when you are full!!
Sounds crazy, but its absolutely true And to be honest, I really did used to eat a lot, much more than I do these days....and I lost weight successfully, more so than I do now, though that could be other factors, I know. like age, less active etc etc.
I think there's something in what your C says...I think the further we get into the diet, the more we want to lose weight and we think the way to do it is cut down on our food intake. I say 'we', I am obviously not talking for everyone!

That was her point as she said look at a new members food diary an someone who's been doing it longer when we start we eat 3 meals plus pick in between as time goes on we stop an in a way become stuck in our ways so my point is to eat 3 good meals so if I do have a jacket at lunch DO still eat dinner an if I'm hungry don't feel greedy do go snack

The Japanese have a saying which translates to "eat until you are 80% full" and this is used as a maximum.

I guess there is a degree of willpower involved in not stuffing yourself to the rafters, sometimes drinking water can assist with helping you feel fuller so you don't feel deprived.

I'm eating more now than I was before SW, I'm just eating the right things. I'm still eating huge portions of pasta and rice and I'm (mostly!!) seeing losses each week :)
