Too Fat to Ride?

So I've seen a few threads on here about this, but none of them are recent.
We've booked to go to Alton Towers at the end of July - 9 weeks from now. I've already lost just over 3 stone and plan to have 4 off before I go, but I don't seem to be losing the inches with the weight. I'm terrified that I'll be too fat to ride and have to do the 'walk of shame'.

Has anyone had a recent experience there to tell me what it's like? I'm currently between size 20 and 22.

Thanks!

thanks! I'm really panicking as i've heard horror stories about people having to be asked to get off :O
I couldn't bear the shame of that :(

Sounds like you'll be fine, Steph so, have a great time and congratulations on your amazing weight loss so far! :)

If you Google
Alton towers weight restrictions
you will find loads of questions and answers on the subject.

There seem to be different rules for different rides depending on the type of harness.

I went 2 years ago when I was 18/19 stone and the only difference I noticed was on Air. Rather than just being clipped in the guy had some sort of key that he had to use to lock the harness which was fine but it meant when getting off my harness didn't click off automatically like everyone else and the guy had to come over and unlock me

I remember being asked to get off a ride when the local fair come to our town. It was mortifying, and the fact was it didnt spurr me on to loose weight, instead I piled on an extra 5 stone because I am an emotional eater. Ill never forget being laughed at as I was getting off.

I took my son to Disney and was so uncomfortable on one of the rides as, although I fitted into the seat, the restraining bar was pressing into me the whole way around. I also find theatre seats embarrassing as they are always snug. My husband's grandmother used to have an old wooden chair that I always had to perch on the edge of whenever I visited. I remember once, after a stint on Dukan and losing two and a half stone, I actually managed to fit in the chair without perching. It made me cry. However, I wouldn't fit into it now...
