Weight creeping back on!
Hello, I'm new to Minimins and this seemed like the best place to start!
Last year I lost 4st on Slimming World, reaching my target in March. I immediately stopped going to meetings as I always found them difficult (I have bipolar/social anxiety which makes anything like that difficult!) and although for the first few months I maintained my weight really well over the past couple I've started piling it back on again.
Christmas was the final straw and having jumped on the scales once it was all over (I'd been avoiding them all through the holidays) found that I'm now 1st heavier than I was when I reached target less than a year ago.
So I'm back to it now trying to shift that stone solo because I dread the thought of going back to SW meetings and having lost my main source of income (I'm a freelance writer and have lost a lot of work since the economy went to pot) I could do without paying to be weighed! I know I can do it but with a sedantry home job and medication that has weight gain as a primary side effect it's going to be hard.

good luck im too trying to get back on the slimming world eating plan i hate going to my local group so trying to do it on my own i did really well last year until due to family stress i was put on anti depressants and my weight slowly but surly started to go back on so anyway 4 months on 2 stone heavier im kicking myself up the bum i going back to work next week and hopefully im going to concentrate on what i need and im sure we can all help each other :o
I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't like the meetings - all those people talking about what they couldn't eat just made me hungry :(
I'm on day two of the re-diet and have managed to stick to the plan without using all my syns...tummy's rumbling but I remember last time the first week was agony!
Anti-depressants are a bit of a nightmare for weight gain, I keep hoping for the ones that have weight LOSS as a side effect.
Yes me too but unfortunately was given the ones that's increases appetite even though I explained to my doctor the last thing I wanted was to gain weight but it fell on deaf ears glad all is going well I'm getting there been on plan but still lots of goodies left over from Xmas I'm gradually. Given then away I have started to crochet again in the evenings it helps to stop me picking at food do you have any hobbies?
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be many SSRIs which have weight loss as a side effect! I was on Lithium (a mood stabiliser) for most of last year - you've a 50/50 lose/gain on that. Guess which my trusty bod went for!
I knit in the evenings to keep my hands busy, it seems to be especially effective when I'm doing something more complex - when I'm doing a straight stockinette it's easy to pop in a choc or two! How difficult is crochet really I had a go but found it really hard, think it's the keeping count!
I can't knit I end up with more holes than anything else lol but found crochet easy to pick up I taught myself 3 years ago from a how to manal and u tube have ago it takes your mind of chocs lol
