Ok so I started at 16st 4lbs at the end of November, by December the 24th I'd got down to 14st 9lb. And now I've messed it up, I've gone back up to 15st 2 lb and I can't seem to get back to routine I've ate so much since Xmas eve it's unbelievable. I don't want to go back I want to do this so badly someone please give me advice or something!! Would be much appreciated to have someone to talk too. Thanks xxx

Hi Hulahoop,
Firstly you have done amazing well so far, you lost over a stone and a half in a month!! I'll bet you looked great! You then had Christmas where I think EVERYONE struggles to eat normally. I personally think you should enjoy the time, life's too short to beat yourself up over a few days of over indulgence, I know I have to enjoy the Christmas goodies or I feel cheated. You did so well before Christmas perhaps you need to look at it like you built up some weight credit, to be used over the holidays (7lbs) and you stuck to that so well done! :).

Now though, it's time to get back on it. You don't say what programme you use but I'll bet that a fair bit of what you've gained is water that will come off again fairly quickly. It's actually quite hard to gain a genuine 7lbs in only 6 days. I started back yesterday after a few months absence and I found that the over indulgence had meant that I've actually had enough of rich foods and am craving salads and wholesome meals now. However I'm also struggling to stop myself from eating the foods I was eating (chips, dips, cheese and fudge). I often find it hard to get back on after losing focus even briefly (and I've been unfocussed for months). You just have to knuckle down and do it!

You can do it honey! Why not make today the day when you organise your stuff, eat up the last of the goodies and ready yourself to start tomorrow? X

Aw thank you Hun! At the minute I'm basically having two Tesco Ultra Slim shakes a day and then a healthy meal of an evening. However, I haven't been doing exercise but I am going to have a look at a treadmill Monday! :) what are you following at the minute and do you exercise? I have started back on plan today (or at least trying) and I've had my breakfast shake so far. Trying to stay determined and not let myself fall off the wagon haha! Did you limit yourself over Christmas or just eat what you want? I'll be glad when it's over and back to normal to be honest, so many tempting treats in my house at the min it's driving me crazy! Thanks for the post, hope to hear back from you soon xx

You're welcome :)
You're a stronger willed gal than I am doing shakes :) I do vintage weight watchers. I know one of the other girls on the vintage board often has shakes as part of her daily points count.

I totally ate what I wanted over Xmas, though to be fair I wasn't even pretending I was watching what I ate. But I would probably had the days off anyway.

The only exercise I currently do is running (ha, I say currently but I haven't been out since before Christmas). I do the c25k programme, which is fab (if you don't already know). I follow the programme up to running for 30 mins, starting back after a break wherever I think my fitness is at. I've done it through about 6 times now :) I'm an outside runner though, we've no room for a running machine in my house, I'm too tight to pay for the gym and i get a bit bored. It's great for some people, but I like the view and the changes in pace jumping offer the puddles etc.

You can do it hun! What's your plan for tea? I'm always looking for inspiration. I'm currently trying to think how to make a weight watchery fish pie.

Ah yes! I've tried calorie counting and things like that before. They never seem to work however I haven't heard of a vintage one? What's that? I seem to find that I have to completely cut out food and have shakes then just allow myself one meal a day. For tea tonight I'm having weight watchers ocean pie meal, they're gorgeous and only 216 or 316kcal, I can't remember?? Lol. I'd like to try and make a few things myself but I struggle, I'd love a recipe if you do make one :) what is the running programme? I haven't heard of it before? I'd definitely like to give that a try. Good on you for getting out there and exercising, that's something I definitely struggle with because of confidence etc but I'm going to try and give it a go! How long have you been dieting? Xx

I'll let you know how it goes :) I prefer to make everything from scratch if I can or if I can be bothered! That way I know how many points are in it and I can stuff it full of veggies. The ocean pies are nice though!

I follow weight watchers but the old plan (ie vintage) not pro points. It's sometimes called discover which was one of the old programme. Worth a look if you feel you need a change or want 3 meals a day again.

If you're thinking about taking up running do look up the c25k programme. I went from absolutely no running ability (ie couldn't run more than a minute at a time to running 10k at my fittest). There are a few, but I like the 9 week one with a 20 min run at 5 weeks. There's a thread on here for it too in the exercise section.

We're busy decorating today. I'm arty but really struggle with decorating concepts :) this is my third colour attempt :)

Thank you. And yes they're lovely but sometimes they don't fill me up enough I feel, or maybe I'm just greedy haha? What are you having for your dinner tonight? I changed my mind and ended up that I've gone for a chicken stir fry. I love stir fry and I'm really hungry so. And thanks for that, I'll certainly have a look. Well done on your achievement with that :) does it cost or is it free? And I love decorating, what colour have you gone for? Xx

Well one of our bedroom walls is now a lovely warm grey instead of Kermit green :) I feel calmer already.

The c25k is free and you'll easily find it if you Google it. I'm on my phone or I'd find you the link. I can have a look later if you're struggling. I can only do about 15 mins without being really poured at the mo though, you need to build it up to your fitness.

The we meals don't fill me up either. I'm rubbish at portion control so need lots to feel happy and as veggies are free on ww it's win win. Chicken stir fry sounds much more filling. I do like stir fry.

Right, I'd better go start my dinner before I start to snack :)

Sounds lovely! I need to consider redoing my bedroom now, it's looking a little dull haha. And yeah would be great if you could send me the link please. And yes they're nice but just not enough, need something else with it xx

I'll try to get on later to look it up for you.

So dinner was nice, if a bit different. It was veg (onion, carrots and brussels) sauteed, with some salmon and smoked haddock. Then I put some milk, Philly garlic and herb, garam masala, and coarse grain mustard in the pan too. I topped it with some potato and sweet potato mash. It was lovely though I've no idea on calories as I calculate in points. Stuffed now :)

So one day down now so that's good lady! Good vibes for tomorrow :) x

Sorry, still not been able to get on the computer. It's the NHS one though so perhaps you could try their website? x

Heh! That's the best way to avoid snacking, keep occupied!

Not sure, been snacking myself rather today (my vice) and I had a lovely but a bit expensive points wise lunch (quorn stirfry inspired by yours yesterday, I'm not veggie but didn't have any chicken. Was nice though!). I might just raid the freezer for some homemade soup. What are you having?

Sounds nice! I've never actually had quorn, does it taste and look the same? What's the difference in kcals etc?

And not sure, either salmon and a baked potato or I'll finish the rest of the stir fry off?
Home made soup? Sounds lush. I love soup, what do you have in it?

Well dinner was a flaming disaster! Went to have the rest of stir fry cooked it with my chicken sauce etc to find out the veg had gone off so that was a waste:-( anyway, ate the chicken and ended up having a slim a soup and weight watchers bread. So annoyed and no idea how many cals I'd have had now :-( xx

Oh no! What a shame, I do hate it when you fancy one thing and ended up having to have another, you never feel satisfied.

I was rubbish, hubby was great sorting me some soup from the freezer (butternut and pear) but everyone else was having crispy chicken in par baked baguette. I just didn't want soup then. I just about had enough points for it but then went a bit over in the eve. I'll have to focus a bit better today. We've nothing really plans for NY so shouldn't be a prob hopefully.

What you up to?

Ah I know. Just didn't feel satisfying :-( oh well, new day today and I had a cheeky hop on the scales 14 st 10 this morning so just gotta keep on going! That sounds lush, don't think I would've been able to resist. Love chicken!!! Hope today is a good day for you. Nothing planned for tonight so should be okay. Probably have an early night, lol boring old me. Enjoy your day x
