Bored eating, comfort eating, menopause and wanting to lose weight

How are you meant to stick to a diet whilst going through the menopause, hormones all over the place, comfort eating, feeling bored all the time.......all this leads to negative thoughts which make me feel worse

I think part of it is not letting yourself feel bad if you eat something you shouldn't, this only makes it worse. Take each day at a time and don't expect too much from yourself.
There's so much going on with your body at this time you need to do things gently. I find walking helps, put some music on and go for a brisk walk, ti helps with your mood, is good exercise and helps keep hunger pangs down. Do things that make you feel good too, like have a haircut or go shopping, or for a swim or join a book group, something like that. Then think about your diet, don't see it as q uick fix, think of it as long term changes to your diet. Try to swap a few things, like instead of having pasta have courgette fried with a little bit of olive oil and garlic, things like that.
I found the paleo diet good to read about. I don't follow it rigidly, just take a few things from it as I'm no good with drastic changes and have to cook for my family too but that diet is also supposed to be good for hormonal issues too.

Hope I'm not bombarding you with advice but be kind to yourself, it's a strange time.

Hi Rexy

No your not bombarding me, it's nice to get help.

I lost my mum 4 years ago so don't have a female to help with this.
