Hi. I tried slimming world a year and a half ago and lost 30lb, but then had loads of issues, and havent stuck to it.
I've put on quite a bit of weight (I'm too worried to weigh myself) and I really need some help to start again. I've always had issues with my weight, and I have my graduation in january which I'm not looking forward to.
I'm going to be 24 soon, and really dont want to spend the rest of my life unhappy with my weight so I really want to make a good go of it this time. However, I am finding it really hard to start again. I need to get another book, but I just feel so bad that I've put on so much weight that I cant seem to start again, as I've been suffering from depression and I work seven days a week. :(
Has anyone got any tips?

thanks :)

Hiya :)
no real tips here, except that we are both in a very similar boat! I've restarted today, rejoining the meetings in Thursday. I never did as well as you first time around, only lost about 9lbs before I started cheating and fell off-plan. Look how well you did! You can do that again! It's time to draw a line under everything that has happened since you left SW, start being kinder to yourself and get yourself back to group. You can do this!! x

hi Lottie!
I lost almost 5 stone on Slimming World from May 2012-March 2013 then I got a new job and lost all routine. have put all of that weight back on so from Monday I am doing a low calorie diet to try and kickstart myself back to healthy eating and into the right mindset for rejoining Slimming World next Tuesday.
I think the best thing to do when restarting is look through old photos - find photos before you lost 30lbs and then when you had lost it and more recent ones. Compare them and even print them out to give you some visual motivation!

I am going to be going to class next week with 7 days of meals already planned from my favourite SW meals from before so I am ready to go.

Just remember, there's no point getting upset or guilty about having lost the weight and then regained it - at least you lost it first before gaining some! :) You've proved you can lose it, so time to get yourself back where you were before you lost 30lbs!!

Good luck!!

Hi i was exactly the same i got up 2 thursdays ago and thought its time to do something and made myself go back nobody judges you and i feel so much better knowing that i've gone back

Also in the same boat. I lost nearly 3 stone 2012/early 2013 and since leaving group have put all of it (plus a few more pounds) back on. I managed to haul myself back on plan on second January but couldn't actually bring myself to weigh myself until 11th January so have no idea how I did in week one; at the time I didn't care I just wanted to lose weight before weigh in so I didn't need to face the whole truth but now I wish I had done it so I could know how well I've done since getting back into it. I will be going back to class on Wednesday to learn about the new plan. You've taken the first step in deciding it's time to do something, baby steps from now on and you'll do great x

Me too, same boat. Have done slimming world and weight watchers, lost weight....stopped going then put weight back on. So now husband and I doing it on own, as find the meetings a tie and lose interest, he lost 6lb last week and I lost 3.5lb.
The tips I have are....write everything down, def works for me....if it's not written down I'm not tempted.
Exercise I go to pilates and started at back to netball.....after 14 years of not going!
Also plan....plan every meal.
I find when I am on track checking minimins keeps me on focused ....the online support is amazing.
Good luck. All I have to do is follow my own tips! ;-) ;-)

Welcome Back to Slimming World, I've just restarted after completly falling of the wagon and now weighing more than I did last time I started Slimming World even after a previous 5stone loss.

Finding it harder this time round.

But we can do this :)

I'm also in the same boat. I lost two and a half stone a few years ago and kept it off for over a year. Then I experienced a lot of new changes in my life and ended up putting the two and a half stone back on and then another half a stone on top! I managed to lose a stone and a half of that before Christmas and then somehow managed to put that on again over Christmas! I know how frustrating it is when you have to restart the diet all over again and lose the same pounds over and over but it will definitely all be worth it. I'm just going to put it all in the past and learn from my mistakes so I don't do it again in the future. I'm more determined than I have ever have been to lose the weight and keep it off. :)

I'm finding setting myself mini goals and challenges really motivating. It can be so daunting thinking about how much weight you want to lose and when you want to lose it by - it can make the whole thing feel impossible. I set myself realistic goals to lose so much weight by a certain date - for example half a stone in a months time so it breaks my main goal into smaller, easier goals and I feel like I am accomplishing something. I also think that it's important not to deprive yourself of treats as depriving yourself of everything you love isn't sustainable in the long term for when you're maintaining your weight. I've found healthier alternatives for treats I used to enjoy daily - like fruit salads and yoghurt instead of crisps and chocolate. I'm also planning to have a treat every so often, for example if I plan to have a meal out then I'll plan to go to the gym on the day and I'll limit eating out to once a month. If you believe in yourself then there is no doubt that you'll be able to do it. :)
