The LAST damn stone challenge!!!

Ok since there seem to be quite a few people that struggle with their last stone for whatever reason.. jury is out on that one!!!

I thought I'd set up a thread to help us all reach it!

I have messed around for the last week, SS'ing some days and eating out others, which is ridiculous.. two weeks ago at my weigh in I had 17lbs to go.. today at my weigh in I have 16lbs to go!!! Which is silly as I have been maintaining a steady 3-4lbs loss every week for the last 10 or so weeks. I can't put my finger on why I do it after my high committment to losing the weight in the first place. It has made me realise that I have some food issues to sort out before I reach target, so maybe some good will come out of it.. I have seen I still have potential to overeat and put weight on when I finish the diet.. and I don't want this to happen obviously! I fully intend this to be my last diet EVER.. so I better get a plan of action sorted and ensure that when I reach my goal I have my thoughts about food and eating under control.

SO anyway for all you girls (and the odd boy of course) out there with approx a stone to go.. why not join me on this thread, put your name down and pledge to lose that pesky stone in the next four weeks :D

Hi Girls

I've been working at this last stone for months now. Was within a few pounds and then Xmas happened!! I've found it quite an emotional time and steep learning curve reintroducing foods. I hadn't been exercising until last week and found focusing on exercising a real help last week. This week I am starting a GI plan and hopefully this combination of GI and exercising will keep me happy and healthy and finally rid me of those last few pounds. Fingers crossed!!

I'm here to support all others battling with the last stone. Has been tough for me, but if you can stay focused and stick to plan may not be for you.

Thanks for the support dizzy - u see i resisted xmas.. and then ended up succumbing to food last saturday and for about 4 days after that too!!! So weird to be so close and yet knowingly bu88er it up!!!

I think it is the "last stone syndrome" you are certainly not alone.

I've got 1stone 6lb to get to my target(for now)!

Can I join in...I've been fine wid abstinence but the 3-4lb off but last 2 weeks have just been 2lb off!!

Ive upped the anti dis week.... Gym hopefully 4 times this week and less bars!!!

so lets see if it works!

I'm worried about eating too!!!

Of course u can join! thought it would be good if we all motivated each other.. and I love a challenge.. even if this one is only half controlled by yourself and the other half by nature! Figure if we can do the abstinence bit then the rest will take care of itself!

I have my goal date as Feb 23rd.. coz Feb 24th is my big night out to say goodbye to Huddersfield (even though I will already have left by then!).. i have meal planned and then lots of alcohol, so I need to be at my first target and then I can decide how to get another stone off! To start with i just want to reach the below 25 BMI thing!!

Ok 24th ounds realistic for a stone....

Yeah u have done fantastic so far Kirsten...so now lets jus keep going. Lets just learn from blips and not have any more!!!:)

Achieving goal will be fantastic...My initial goal of 10st 4 my BMI is still jus in overweight by 4lbs...but i still want to stick wid 10st 4 as my target!

and then decide wen i get there!

Hmmmm, Mini recommended this thread to me (thanks) and yeah, count me in!

I've got 20 pounds still to go, but need to stop faffing!

I pledge to stick in, behave impeccably and shift the last stone and a bit by mid-march at the latest!

Remember your stronger than these thoughts..so have an early night or a relaxin bath...n tell that Chatterbox...TO EFF O!!!! lol x

I think i have had a positive day....still got one foodpack to go...had 5L water and spent 60 min in gym doing fatburn on bike n treadmill n 10min on x trainer...

Planning another morning in da gym tomorrow!!
 
Hi. I was pointed in your direction and I think it will be good to aim for this together.

I have 18lbs to go so just over the stone (can't believe it!!!!).

I have to say, I really don't mess about anyway but I will make the promise to stop me from starting to mess about if you know what I mean!!!!

I'm thinking that things are starting to slow down a bit now which is a bit disappointing. :( I'm doing 790 and am very much enjoying it and am sticking to it 100% and am very strict on the portions anyway.

What could I do more of to help with the weight loss?? I think I should be
a) drinking more water
b) taking a little more exercise.

Other than that I think it is in the lap of the gods!!:rolleyes:

I'm a teacher and am aiming for the half term hols which for me is 4ish weeks away (well... my last weigh in was yesterday and I'll aim for the first sunday in the hols which is 4 weeks away).

I've recently lowered my expectations so that I'm not falling short of my goals all of the time. I'm now aiming for 2lbs per week which seems to be my average loss for the last 5 weeks. This means that I will (hopefully) have lost 8lbs by the first Sunday of half term which would take me down to 11st 1lb.

To get down to my goal weight of 10st 5lbs it should take me 9 weeks from now (Sunday 25th March).:)

If I could do it quicker/sooner that would be even better! :D

Hi S_786, feel free to join us for motivation, I couldn't handle it if my last stone took months, I know I would give up.. so make a pledge to get it off (so to speak!) in the next4 or 5 weeks :D

Nas - I had four foodpacks yesterday.. wanted something so thought it was better to have four foodpacks rather than eat! Hoping today will be back to normal, i just have to put last week to back of my mind - need a bit of amnesia!!!! Didn't go to gym yesterday, because i normally like to go at 6.30am, but i got up too late, as I did today too!! Working from home today though so reckon i'm going to gym for lunch! It makes me feel much better... i'm def going at some point, i've decided to start easing into my marathon training this week, so don't want my fantastically easy run on Sunday to have been for nothing... of course if i go to the gym tonight it will give me something to do other than have foodie thoughts and scream!!!!!!

Tell us a bit more about your last few months. What diet are you doing?

I've been trying to do CD plans over the last few months but keep going on and off course what with hols and Xmas etc etc etc. Like you I was started to feel down and I felt like my bad eating habits were returning.

Last week I decided enough is enough and have taken the focus off the diet and losing the pounds now as I think I was putting off everything until I reached goal. I started at the gym and have found the exercise really good for my morale and feel great.

Yesterday I started the GI plan and really enjoyed it am down 2lbs this morning already. A change of focus and plan has done me the power of good (fingers crossed, it lasts!!). Have you tried changing things at all.

Glad you've joined us. Whatever you do don't give up on yourself!
