One of the most exciting things I am looking forward to in my hypnotherapy sessions is working on the reasons behind my overeating / bad eating habits. I think the reason I always find it so hard to stick long term to any diet/exercise programme, is because I have never really addressed the reasons why I was obese / overweight in the first place.
An example of this is when I gave up smoking in 2008 I never looked at ways to cope with the void of not smoking. I still crave for something everytime I have a cuppa, I still crave for something after I finish a meal. More often then not I use food to fill that void.
I hope with having a opportunity to look at this during my sessions, I will not only of kicked the habit of smoking but also kick the unhealthy subsitutes I use to fill the void! Jo x
Just thought I'd jump in and say hello from a fellow ME/CFS sufferer! You've done brilliantly well, and I'm sure you will start moving in a downwards direction again very soon. I wouldn't worry too much on the exercise front - I don't exercise at all, due to both ME and osteoarthritis, and I'm doing ok on the weight loss front using dietary control alone, so it can be done. I've had ME for 24 years, so I'm used to managing the condition now and know what I can and can't do - is yours a recent diagnosis?
Anyway, all the very best. xx
Firstly thank you for taking time to pop into my diary. Also well done on your weight loss so far!

I am waiting to see a specialist OT so I can look at this issue with them and hopefully find a balance that suits me.
Now I know what has been causing my exhaustion/fatigue and also pain I feel much happier. I know once I have adjusted and used to having ME/CFS I can get on with life as before.
My specialist says it may have been triggered by the severity of my illness after my bowels were perforated and I delveloped septicemia and peratinitus. Then again it may be just one of the things and I guess its not that important.
I hope you continue well on your weight loss journey! Jo x

Thank you, Jo! I hope you'll get all the help you need with the ME - our local NHS is a bit rubbish when it comes to support for it, so it's all a bit DIY for me at this point, lol. But I still manage to work full time and look after my daughter (husband can take care of himself!), so all is good. Mine was caused by a virus, back in 1989, and we did actually have a good specialist locally at the time, but not any more, they never seem to know what to do. The weight loss is going well for me this time round though, which can only help - just need to get off this last stone or two if I can, but I'm pretty happy with the 8 stone so far. All the very best. xx

I had a lovely e-mail today from my hynotherapist who was just checking in with me while I wait for my therapy sessions to start. We have agreed the week of the 25th of Feb is a good time to make a start on my sessions. We just have to agree on a good time then I can start counting down the days. I am getting excited now . I am off to bed for some relaxation and then hopefully for another good nights sleep. Jo x
I am feeling much more chilled lately. I don't seem to be so stressed and seem to be sleeping really well. I am using my relaxation mp3 when ever I can to have some time out of lifes stresses and it really seems to be having a chilled layed back affect on me. I thin I need to make sure I take time in my day to have a few moments to relax / reflex as it makes me feel more calm in general.
I hope everyone has a lovely Valentine Day!
We are planning to cook a lovely meal together and have a chilled cosy night infront of the open fire. Jo x

I think my lowest was 12.8 and after a very indulgent weekend I saw a 15 on on the scales. THAT was terrifying. Today im 14.10. I totally understand about smoking thing too.
I recently quit and I feel like I have lost a part of myself. How daft does that sound? I miss hanging out the back door in the morning with a ciggie and a coffee, my second favourite thing to do other than smoke is eat.... Soooo I eat to fill the void. Its a vicious circle.
I will keep check on this thread to see how you get on.
good luck xxxx
I am really excited now I have a start date for my Hypnotherapy Gastric Band. I have my first consultation next Wednesday! I cant wait! Fantastic stories.. Keep going!.. i know I will
Thanks for your comments xx
Today I had the 1st session for my Gastric Band Hypnotherapy. The sessions I have will be spilt up into the following:
1st - Preparation Session (today) This was two hours talking and one hour hynotherapy.
2nd - Script reinforcement (reinforceing script used in the take home mp3/cd) 2weeks time.
3rd - Stomach Shrinking
4th - Gastric Band Operation (By hypnotherapy)
5th - Tweaking the band if necessary.
Todays session was great and I came out feeling very relaxed and positive. I was given information on post operation which included a info sheet about what I can/can't eat.
0-2 days post-surgery : Liquids Only
2 days to 2 weeks post surgery: Soft Foods
2 weeks and onwards: Normal Foods
We also discussed exercise and what I enjoyed and how to introduce this back into my life.
I then had a relaxation hypnotherapy session and the 1st preparation session which seem to go ok and I guess only time will tell how effective this is.
I now have to listen to the mp3 I was given once a day for the next two weeks and also submit weekly food / exercise diaries to the therapist and then go for my next session in two weeks!
I hope this explains it ok for those of you that asked me to feedback! Jo xxxo
