I can only say that i am baffled by all the diary entries i see with Chocolate or sweetener filled food.
I still haven't found a sugar free mayo but that has been my only cheat this month...
"j" on another forum didn't have sugar in the 80's I am going to beat that.

This is freedom from out from under the man all my life, it is freedom like apples in autumn and honeysuckle in spring
and never having tasted ants dipped in honey before
I don't understand where all the no sugar people have got to?

77 days of this so far
in it for life

17 lbs down so far
3 st 3lbs to go

Hi clouddog,

I'm new to this site and I'm a bit confused about how old the posts are. I think that this post is only 3 weeks old. But I've looked at some that seem be recent and then I realise the dated back to 2009!!

Anyway, I'm a no sugar person too! Hurrah!

I've been off it now since November last year. Well ok, I still eat fruit. But only fresh fruit not dried fruit. No honey, agave syrup or any of that.

I have a very sweet tooth and once I start on sweet things I find I can't stop. So I just thought the best thing to do would be to stop all together. It really hasnt been as difficult as I thought it would be.

Do you eat fruit?

Hi
Haven't been on herein a few weeks, but still off sugar. Not losing quickly like ketosis atm but gradually losing on a 1400 roughly kcal diet

I do eat fruit but not while I detoxed, I only climbed the walls for a short time and as I got used to it I reintroduced fruit but not as a binge food
I've had about 3 binges 3/4 litre orange juice once
And 2-3 large handfuls of sultanas 2 days in a row

Not in the first 2 months but since March I have been eating dried fruit in moderation although yes it's a high sugar treat I can count on one hand how many days I've had it and tend to steer clear

Do you have smoothies or O.J.?
Frozen innocent smoothies are about as good as a good Italian ice cream used to be in those days
They were a one a day thing for a week or two
I don't think I'm eating a sugary treat fruit a day but have to watch myself around pineapple , but that's rare too
But my surprise favourite food for small treats / snacks are good nuts. Pecans or Brazil's or Almonds mainly
Been trying to go vegan on and off, but find it difficult
I am eating a lot less dairy and meat but now both in moderation is probably what will happen
Processed meat is starting to feel unappealing anyway.

Great to find someone to chat to about going all the way sugar free,
You'll always be one month ahead

26 lbs down 118 days

PICS now available, not clever enough to get the pixels right but they're there if you click!

Yeah, i agree i had such an addiction that there wasn't an off switch... i thought i was hooked by the feeling of needing a sugar drip on and off through my life but that was nothing compared with losing the off switch.. losing any power to say no

gained 16lb in 6 weeks.

The time i went back to sugar after a complete break was incredible too - i changed nothing apart from adding chocolate and gained 28lbs in 2 months !!

so i know i can't go back to it. ever really i think
saying 'never' is quite empowering although of course it's a day at a time.
Don't find it difficult though which is the amazing part
with no sugar to feed the cravings I just feel free

I dropped white sugar a while ago and lost 16lbs in 6 weeks. I really wasn't fussy about it I just cut out the junk and it spilled into the white carbs that turn to sugar too. But I didn't cut carbs completely. I didn't go crazy and read books or complicate it, all I did was cut white sugar and if at all possible go for the healthier options where possible. So I was delighted to drop the lbs especially after nothing else would shift the weight.

One Lindt chocolate at a Michael McInryre Show with the hubby set me munching here and there for the next month. Whoops. But I wasn't craving sweet stuff and had no idea why I was eating it. I didn't even want that chocolate - it was quality time with the hubby - honestly tasted awful but that ran into pizza the next day etc

I kept the 16lbs off and on Sunday last weekend I set my next goal of 7 lbs in 28 days for a party. In the first 3 days - 5.6lbs gone! Dropped the sugar. It really is a choice for me. I don't look at it like a diet and the benefits are incredible.

As i say if once a week I fancy something I'll have it. But with 47lbs I had to divide it up into manageable chunks to get rid of.

So the first thing I found that helped me was the thought that 10lbs is a dress size. Seemed more achievable to aim for 10lbs than 47lbs. So here I am 20lbs down.

Love no sugar.

When I was doing Primal I was using honey and coconut sugar when baking cakes and biscuits but don't eat them any more.
Haven't had any sweet things since March now. :)

I had to give it up for medical reasons. Too much sugar isn't any good for your pancreas or liver.
Before I started Paleo March 2012 sweet things was my trigger to overeat.
The two things I have noticed is I don't get any cravings and no hungry feelings now.

Yes it's great I have to remember to eat which is a first lol. Very handy at work tho hah. Amazing What sugar creeps into too.

I hope your health has improved now x

Waiting for an op then I can get back to exercising and eating properly. :)
If you eat regularly and don't let yourself get too hungry then you shouldn't get any cravings or binge eat.

I am a type 1 Diabetic but eat sugar in moderation (mostly), as far as your pancreas is concerned it can't tell the difference between white bread , sweets or bananas. The more refined the carbo load is the more insulin is required to process it. But your body insulin and pancreas processes cake and bananas the sane way. So to truly decrease your sugar you would have to exclude all things with a high glycemic index and limit fruits.
