Oh my!!! This was sooooo gorgeous and so easy too. It was in the SW mag from Nov/Dec 09 p 25. You know how you see recipes and you think "That's looks boring" but this is amazing. The marinade for the steak gives it the most amazing flavour. Okay here you go:

Red Day - 0 syns
EE - 0 Syns

Ing:
Sirloin steak
1 red chilli finely chopped (recipe says 3 but I just used 1)
2 tbsp red wine vinegar
1inch root ginger grated or finely chopped
1 tbsp sweetener
2floz/57ml light soy sauce (i only had dark and just used a tbsp and was fine)
fry light
Stir fry veg that is free on a red ie no sweetcorn

Method

1. Cut steak into finger strips.
2. Mix 3/4 of the chilli, ginger, vinegar, sweetener and soy sauce together and pour over the steak and marinade for 30 mins. (I didn't marinade for this long and it was still goooooood!
3. Fry the steak in fry light reserving the marinade. At the same time fry the veg in a seperate pan - if you don't have a separate pan then fry the steak for a few mins and then transfer to a bowl and wipe clean the pan and use it for the veg.
4. When my steak was cooked I poured the rest of the marinade into it and let it boil for a minute.
5. Serve veg and steak on top, pour over sauce and then sprinkle over remaining chopped red chilli.

Enjoy! I will definitely be making this again.

That sounds so good!!!! Is that sauce recipe for 1 or 4? I am definitely going to make this on Sunday, thank you for posting it! :D

Well its supposed to be for four! But...... I just used one small steak and made the sauce up as directed. It is all free so just use more steak if it is for 4. Or if you like lots of steak lol.

This sounds lovely:)

Oh I made this last night after remembering reading your post - its yummy!!

Really enjoyed it. I had a huge pile of veg that i'd stirfried, onions, peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, pak choy, courgettes & it was gorgeous!! The marinade is really really nice! A def hit for us & will be making it again - soon!! lol

Tried this sauce with tuna steaks this evening and balsamic vinegar instead of red wine vinegar and it was amazing!! Thank you!!

Yes it does sound nice, its a bit like the bbq sauce I do, thats with balsamic vinegar and soy sauce. You could cut the steak up into strips like a stir fry I suppose if you want. Another one to go onto my faves, thanks

Yum! This one's going in my recipe folder :)

Going to try this one, I'm searching around for stir fry recipes as I'm really getting into stir frys :)
