Thread: Mincemeat cous cous cake

Just made Mincemeat Cous cous cake.

I just cannot believe that it is 4 sins per cake on Green day. It was really nice. Texture and tasted a bit like bread pudding.

Please can anyone confirm that I am right.

Eggs, 4 oz of cous cous, 4 tablespoon of sweetner, 2 tablespoon of mincemeat (sweet). mixed spice and lemon juice.

Mincemeat is 2 syns per level tbsp (all plans) so yes, 4 syns per cake.

Some people and consultants say that it's not using cous cous in the usual manner, so should be synned under the cous cous (used as flour) - 5 syns per oz.

However, as long as you're only having it once or twice a week, it's generally fine - just don't eat one a day and still count it as 4 syns per cake!

Checked it out also. My consultant said it's because your turning something into sweet and people are more likely to eat too much of it. So the odd slice is ok. Thanks paperclip for pointing it out to me. Good job I never eat the whole thing.
