Branded soups!

Hi there, I love soups this time of year and do make my own, but sometimes I want something quick and easy, maybe to take to work! I do have the SW directory but just wondered if anyone can recommend some yummy branded FREE soups that they've tried, or any that are really low in syns! Thanks!X

As far as I know there aren't any packaged/tinned soups that are free.
There are a few that can be used as a HEB and they'll be listed in your ook.
I make my own usually now to be sure they're free. I made carrot and coriander today and it was really filling and warming. I had it with a chicken and ham sandwich for my lunch xx

Besides, home made is best - a lot of those have cream, salt and even added fat/oil

If in doubt make a few gallon and get freezing

The Waitrose Tomato and Basil one was in the SW mag as HExB. I had it today and it was delicious, but not as satisfying as the ones I make myself. At the moment the kitchen is out of action so I'm buying soup to take to school with me, so if anyone can recommend any of the others on the list that ARE still HExB's I'd be extremely grateful. (Really I'm looking forward to making soup on the shiny new cooker that appeared in the kitchen today though).

Don't worry, I make a lot of my own soups and always keep an eye on the SW website for HEX ones, but quite frankly resent spending 11-12 syns on a tin of soup nevermind using a HEX for half of one!! I posted that 14 months ago not long after starting SW!! Can't believe where the time has gone and really proud I'm still here and hard at it!! X

This is my exact attitude Funcurls. I can't work out though whether I am just being bloody-minded, frugal or what!

I prefer to spend my precious syns on things I cannot easily make myself

Exactly!! It's not being bloody minded or frugal it's just that you get so much more for your syns (or lack of) when making your own and you know exactly what's going into it!! No salt, oil or preservatives and probably far nicer in flavour!! Well done on your loss so far hun, I see we have a similar amount to go!! Gutted that before Christmas I had 10.5lb to go, but heyho, I'm still here and hard at it and WILL get to target albeit the scenic way!! X

if it is not on the healthy extra list then no it wont be I am afraid.

branded/ready made soups are always going to be high in syns as they don't qualify for any free food allowance whatsoever. So unless using one of the qualifying healthy extra ones, stick to making your own I say
