Cooking Apple - free or syns

Hi Everyone
I'm a newbie and need a bit of advice.
Last night I was given a brace of pheasant, so thought I would cook Roast pheasant with Leeks, cider(syned!), smoked bacon and apples. I'm only going to put 2 apples in the roasting tin (one each), so won't be over eating fruit, so therefore can I count these as free or have to syn them?

No, they'll be synned once they're cooked. From the (2011) book: 0.5 syns per 28g or average 4 syns each.
