Hi All

My first week and today I took a chicken salad to work. Put 1 tablespoon of extra light mayo in and it was at dry as anything.

Any recommendations for low fat dressing, what syn value ect.

Also which is the lowest spread to use on bread - marg type stuff!

Thanks everyone:confused:

For salad dressing I use either heinz 70% reduced fat (1 syn per tbsp) or I mix a bit of extra virgin with some balsamic vinegar and mustard, you can make one quite low syns in a batch and then just use a few tsp or however much you need. You can count the oil as part of your HEXb too.

The lowest marg is 1 syn per tsp I think, theres a few that go that low, I cant believe its not butter light is one of them, but Ive started using Laughing Cow light instead, 1 triangle is plenty for 3 slices and either 1.5 syns or part of your HEXA. You get way, way way more than you would of the marg for the same syns.

Did you know that it’s possible to have FREE mayonnaise?! Homemade mayonnaise takes just minutes to make. Mix together 6 tbsp of fat free fromage frais, 2 tbsp white wine vinegar and 2 tsp granulated artificial sweetener. Blend 1 tsp mustard powder with 1 tsp water and stir into the dressing. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper and hey presto, Free mayo! If sealed in an air-tight container and refrigerated, this will keep for up to 5 days. Is lovely.

Thank you so much for that, Both of you. I had 3 tablespoons extra light Mayo on a giant salad today 3 sins but even better Sharon if it could be free!!!!! :)
