would this be free??

Best stick to extra lean, getting rid of the excess fat is better but then the mince has cooked in that extra fat the whole time and could have absorbed a lot more than you think and more than that can be removed at the end?!

It wouldn't be free unfortunately. I find extra lean mince so hard to find let alone expensive. Sometimes my Asda do it, but usually I can only get it in waitrose. I use Quorn mince in anything saucy (chilli etc..) and save my hard found expensive extra lean mince for burgers etc. Quorn is also a speed food and high in fibre.

Tesco do do it, it just doesn't say "extra lean" on the packaging. The SW definition of "Extra lean mince" is anything that's less than 5% fat. (There are things labelled 'extra lean' that are NOT less than 5%) - always check the nutrition label to see if youre really getting extra lean.

This is the one I got most recently, it's 4.5% fat so extra lean.

Yep, I stashed up while it was on offer too :D
