Sweet and sour rice times now 8.5 syns!

I've just read that they have changed the recipe of uncle bens sweet and sour rice times and they are now a whopping 8.5 syns when they used to be free! Gutted cos these were a really quick and easy dinner at work on a night shift :-(

i thought the pots were 1.5 and it's only the jars that are 8.5? there's a conversation about this already, the one about new syn values.

No, The Rice Time comes with a rice pot plus a sauce pot - the rice part is 1.5 but the combined value of both parts is 8.5 syns

gutted, i love the s+s, cantonese and mexican chilli, i must have about 4 a week!! so ideal for whacking in the microwave, very disappointed

I've just put the nutritional information of the 3 I have in my cupboard through the syns calculator and they are still showing as free so I guess I best make them last! x

Before you get too excited how is the nutritional info given - is it for the entire thing, the rice plus the sauce? if so then the syns will be wrong. The new syn values are calculated on the rice on its own, and the sauce on its own (no no free food allowance on this)

They haven't changed the recipe-think it was miscalculated from the start. The rice isn't free cos it's micro rice,it's 1.5 for the rice and 7 for the sauce xx

seeeeeerrriously.I just bought two of these. Lucky I didn't head back and pick up more.

I'm going to treat these two as free, I'm eating only fruit either side today and tomorrow!
