Ham syns and confusion

Hi I am really confused about packets of ham and whether they are free or synned. With so much variety in the shops how can I be sure I am buying syn free ham? Anyone who has a list of syn free hams and/or other sandwich meats please share with me thanks

If it's proper ham then it is syn free but the stuff that is made from re-formed bits and pieces usually has a syn. Best to check for a particular brand if you are unsure by posting a question in the syn values sub-forum.

it is packet sliced ham that I am concerned about. Ham that I have been eating thinking it was free hasn't been! So wondering about next time I go shopping if there is a way I can tell what is free or not as where I live does alot of local produce that isn't in book or online.

I don't know how the reformed stuff can even be called ham!!! :yuk:

Ive been quite happily munching on asda wafer thin turkey assuming its free, when in fact a small70g pack is sinned, i dont think theres many sins but its all extra i hadnt accounted for!

I have now come to realise that I have been eating synned meats for quite a while hence the slow loss rate....the majority of the sandwich meats available in my local shops and supermarkets are synned, be warned be careful! it has to be less than 95% pork, chickn, turkey for it to be free
