Mugshot Warning

I know a lot of people on here like their mugshots but we found out in group this week that not all the free mugshots are actually free.

The cheaper ones that are available in home bargains or pound shops are not all free. The tomato ones and the chicken ones are 1 syn each because they have to change the recipe to make them cheap.

If the little bubble on the packet with the less than 1% sign in has a black background then they are free, if it has a coloured background then it's syns. This only affects thetomato and chicken ones.

Hope this helps everyone!

The mugshots that are in my poundland and homebargains have a cream packaging and I'm sure they say crosse and blackwell, not symington's. I steered away from them as not sure if they would be proper mugshots and free. I know they're a little more expensive in asda and the other supermarkets but I still buy mine there as I know I'm deffo getting the right thing. They're usually 4 for £2 so around 50p each I'd rather spend the extra 10p or whatever the difference is

If they say 1% on them they're free-the others all have syns. They also have different coloured writing-black is synned I think x

The 1syn ones have cheaper ingredients so that they can be sold to the discount stores. They therefore have different nutritional info and aren't considered filling enough to be a free food. Our consultant gave us the official statement from the mugshot people that said this. I think it's very cheeky though, Anything to make more money!

The good ones are often on offer, but I always thought the other ones looked weird.

I honestly thought the cheaper ones tasted awful, i only had them once a few months ago then went back to Asda for some of the others!

Hi, hope you don't mind me asking this here but I'm new to SW and was just wondering, if you only eat half the portion size, should you half the syns??
For example if I had a beef and mushrooms Chinese 4.5 syns... But I only actually ate half the portion should I half the syns instead of counting all 4.5?
many thanks x

Of course doll! :) it would be like me saying im going to syn a mars bar but not actually eat it, lol.

Mugshots are pretty small though, make sure you dont go hungry :) xx

i always have 2 musgshots if i'm having them for lunch, i only like the spicy sweet & sour one. I've never seen the different colour packs.

Are the synned ones you are on about 46g per sachet rather than 54g per sachet?

I always wondered why the smaller sachet on syns online was 1 point and the 54g was free! Confused me massively but the 46g must be those discount shop ones!

I had always thought that the food sold in cutprice stores were either close to their sell-by date or surplus to requirements (over-ordering, etc.) in some way.

Cynical though I am about the ploys of the food industry, it had never occurred to me that they might be different products!

I agree, and I found the pasta didn't 'cook' as well either. They were vile! Thanks for sharing this info, will pass it on to my consultant tomorrow in group as I know a lot of people in my group do eat them.
