    Stewed fruit without sugar? Syns?

Hi everyone - have heard that fruit has Syns values once it is stewed - is this true. I stewed some apples and plums last night in the juice of two oranges. Does this make it free? Or does it change the values? To be honest, it was very sour and I added some honey (which obviously does have a Syn value) but I'm wondering if it is free without the honey. Can anybody help?

    Thanks

Cooked or blended fruit, and fruit juice are all synned (but veg isn't).

    Many reasons

    - its easier to eat much more fruit when cooked or blended, so more likely to overeat

-it's faster to eat cooked and blended fruit than raw, so again more likely to overeat

-cooked and blended fruit has a much higher effect on blood sugar levels - the sugars are broken down in cooking so the body reacts more strongly to them causing a blood sugar high and then a sugar low

-fruit juice (even naturally squeezed) is high in sugar but low in fibre and doesn't fill you up, so while it does contain vitamins it is not ideal and hence synned.
