It's says on green day in my book that rice is free

today I ate a whole pack (250 gram) of whole meal tesco microwaveable brown rice.

In my syns book it tells me that this is 1 syn for the pack

in the book it says *if ground or used as flour substitute these foods have syn value,

when I read the syn values in the optimising book it says whole meal is free ????????

is it maybe because its tesco??
i know bachelors rice is syn free
but asdas own is 1/2... hope this helps a little bit x

Microwave rice sachets are synned because there is oil added to them to stop the grains from sticking together.

When the book says rice is free it means plain rice with nothing added.

I'll just syn it then ,it's only one syn anyway and I've got 3.5 left for the rest of the day, thanks guys xxx

Rice is free. Oil isn't. Rice and pasta which is in pouches to go into the microwave always have oil in them to stop them sticking together. It will say so on the packet.
