So I realised I was probably using syns by putting sauce on my food, I cannot live without sauce on certain meals, hate dry stuff.
So was wondering what syns values you were for certain sauces or if any could recommend so syn free/low syn value sauces.
Also any recommendations? Nice hot sauces?
Different brands will vary slightly, but as a rough idea...
Heinz tomato ketchup = 1 Syn per level tbsp
Heinz barbecue sauce = 1 Syn per level tbsp
Heinz salad cream = 2.5 Syns per level tbsp
Heinz salad cream light, 30% less fat = 1.2 Syns per level tbsp
Heinz salad cream light, 70% less fat = 1 Syn per level tbsp
Hellmans real mayonnaise = 5.5 Syns per level tbsp
Hellmans light reduced calorie mayonnaise = 2 Syns per level tbsp
Hellmans lighter than light mayonnaise = 0.5 Syns per level tbsp
Blue Dragon sweet chilli dipping sauce = 1.5 Syns per level tbsp
Blue Dragon squeezy sweet chilli sauce = 1.5 Syns per level tbsp
Blue Dragon sweet chilli sauce = 2 Syns per level tbsp
I know for definite that there are Syn Free recipes for tomato ketchup / BBQ sauce, but have never made them myself as I don't like them. You could try using the search function (top right of this screen) or looking on the SW website (must be a member).
Hope this helps!
Also any tips for a meat or salad dressing? X
I just tend to use LTL mayo or balsamic vinegar on my salads.
