Roast dinners

Hi all.

I apologise if I am re-covering old ground but I am new to SW and new to this wonderful forum.

I have a question re roast dinners - how exactly do we count syns?

I have only just started SW today, so forgive me for being a little bit confused about it, but I'm planning on having roast beef with roasted vegetables (in meat juice, a tablespoon of olive oil to the pan with the meat, veg and potatoes), 1 small yorkshire pudding and 2 small roast potatoes for my tea tonight.

Can anybody please shed some light on what I count as my free food and how to calculate the syn when there is no packaging involved?!

Hi Bumblebee,

Free food is lean meat, potatoes, rice, pasta, eggs, Superfree (1/3 of your plate should be made up of these foods on the Extra Easy plan) are things like vegetables, fruit (these don't include carby veg like parsnips, potatoes, sweet potatoes, peas, sweetcorn) Synned foods will be your olive oil and the flour in the yorkshire puddings and if you had gravy. A tablespoon of Olive Oil is 6 syns, Flour is 4.5 syns for 25 grams.

Hope that helps a bit, good luck on your first week, it does take a bit of getting to grips with the basics, but once you get them it's really nice and easy and you can eat a really good variety of food :)
