Old El Paso - Syn Value Confusion!

Hi everyone! I hope someone can help me with this. I started slimming world last week but before I started I had bought a box of Old El Paso One Pan Rice Meal.

We had it last night to use it up and when I looked up the syns it's over 40 syns for the box! (Worked out about 11 for my serving!)

I'm not sure if this is right, the box contains a small packet of cream sauce (which I can understand having a few syns) but there's a large bag (about 200g) of dried rice. From the website it looks like they used the '1 syn per 20 cal' rule for the portion but I figure the rice should cut some of this out.

So I put the nutritional information into the syns calculator using rice as free food and it comes back as 1 1/2 syns which sounds much better!

Now I'm just stuck with which I should go with? It's a very big jump from 1 1/2 to 11 syns!

Which flavour did you have??
Two of these meals are listed on the app and unfortunately they are saying 35.5 syns and 40.5 syns!!!!!! Shocking!!

Extra mild one, it seems crazy! The box is mainly made up of the dried rice which would be free.

I'm hoping the website have made a mistake and just didn't take the rice into consideration. Or maybe not and I'll just have to avoid this next time I do the shopping!

Yes its' high and those are the correct syn values. For some reason it doesn't get a free food allowance so even the rice is synned sorry :(

Oh well, thanks for the response! I've sent a query to slimming world to see if they can have a rethink on it. It comes to 210 calories and 11 syns per serving but 170 of those calories are coming from the free uncooked rice. I'll have to wait and hear back from them!

These are the ingredients:

Seasoned Rice (200 g): White Long Parboiled Rice, Maltodextrin (Maize), Tomato Powder, Salt, Sugar, Sunflower Oil, Paprika Extract, Parsley, Acidity Regulator: Citric Acid,Creamy Lime Sauce (150 g): Water, Cream, Spinach, Salt, Modified Corn Starch, Flavourings, Cream Cheese, Stabilizer: Xanthan Gum, Acidity Regulator: Lactic Acid, Lime Juice Concentrate ,Extra Mild Seasoning Mix for One Pan Rice Meal (5 g): Maltodextrin (Maize), Milk Powder, Salt, Sugar, Herbs (Oregano, Parsley, Thyme), Spices (Cayenne Pepper, White Pepper), Acidity Regulators: Citric Acid, Lactic Acid; Paprika Extract

So the rice has oil and sugar in it (definitely not just dried rice, so not free); the sauce has cream, cream cheese, and corn starch; and the seasoning mix contains sugar.
