New to Slimming World and looking for advice

Hello, I am trying to follow slimming world from home, most simply because my work schedule doesn't allow me time to attend a meeting, I'm looking for a list of foods that I can eat freely or low syn and how is the best way to spend your syns?

Any help? I'm new to slimming world.

Welcome to SW. At the very least you are going to need to get a starter pack either by going along to group, even if only for one week, or buying one on ebay. Did you know that if you work shifts you don't get charged for missed weeks as long as you let your consultant know you won't be able to attend because of work. Your other option is to become an online member. Either way you will get the basic information about the plan, free foods, healthy extras and syn values. You would get access to online resources to although this would be time limited if you don't go back to group. You can use your syns for anything you want, there is no best way to spend them :)

Its quite expensive to join online best to go to at least one class and get the basics.,the monthly mag is good too next one is out on the 17th

I have joined online and find it OK. Reason I joined was because i Work odd hours and didn't think I could make the meetings. I have since found out that i can weigh at different groups. Although I would worry about the different scales!
Its working for me online, but I do have support fro my work buddy and Facebook, and course reading here is inspirational :)

I am also going it alone due to work but I have signed up online. I don't think the website is that helpful really, I only use it for the food diary which is very very good for working out syns and showing you what foods are free etc so I would recommend it just for that. The people on here provide great support and information though and there are quite a few who work shifts or work away.

If you are wanting to keep costs to an absolute minimum you are best going to a group and getting the pack and any books you want to buy whilst at the meeting (check them all out whilst you are there) and then don't go back. You will pay more on eBay. Once you are armed with this info you will have everything you need to get going. However, going it alone at home can be hard and you have to be fairly strong willed to do it. By joining a lot of members feel accountable to someone and that spurs them on to stick to plan be it online or at a group. Plus if you join you have the benefit of syns online, which is really useful. Good luck whatever you decide to do :D
