    Picnic ideas please!!

I know summer is coming to an end but having just started on SW Extra Easy and with a friend coming up to visit next week, we thought about doing a picnic with my girlies and I want to be selective with what I nibble on so my syns don't creep up too high especially as we will be sharing a bottle of prosecco in the evening!

Any ideas? I will naturally take some salad and fruit but what else would make good picnic food?

    Thanks in advance!! :-)

    Hi :-)

I think I saw a thread about this in the recipe section- a quick google might find it. I'd aim for syn free as much as possible- things like mini sw quiches (made in muffin tins), free hummus and raw veg, the chickpea dhal loaf is tasty cold, and for sweet you could stir some Options in a pot of quark to have with strawberries/fruit kebabs. Hope this helps x

Hi, thanks for the ideas! I think I remember seeing a recipe for syn free houmous so thanks for the reminder! I have a tub of quark in the fridge and so this could be an opportunity to use some!

Scotch eggs! Look up 'special scotch eggs' on SW website, only 1.5 syns and super filling and tasty. Chicken drumsticks (skin off), pasta salad - also lots of options on website.
Houmous - tin of chick peas, clove of garlic, juice of half a lemon, dollop of fat free yogurt, salt and pepper and blitz in processor. Yum!
Walkers Pops only 4 syns a multipack bag and fruit, lots of it!

Yum, scotch eggs - will look that recipe up!

Thanks for the reminder of the houmous recipe. Will definitely be making some of that! Love how we can still enjoy things that would be full of syns in the original version but by tweeking a recipe it becomes syn free! :-)

I made the Roasted Red Pepper and Chive Falafels from the SW website last night, they were lovely. The recipe makes 24 and they are 1 syn for four. I had the leftovers for lunch today and they were delicious cold as well.
