Can anyone help please?
For a long time now I have been buying LEAN mince lamb from Tescos. I used this to make minted lamb kebabs, a slimming world recipe I had a while back, it was one of our favourites and low in syns!!! But Tescos seem to have stopped selling LEAN mince lamb they just sell standard which then turns a low syn meal into a rather high syn meal
I'm missing one of my favourite tea's but am really trying to stay on track so don't want to blow it:sign0009: Can anyone help???

As of the beginning of this year, regulations for the labelling of minced meat were changed. Before, "lean" could mean anything up to 15 per cent fat.

Now it can't be called "lean" unless it is less than 7 per cent fat. As most minced lamb, whatever they called it, was nowhere near as low as that, it wasn't possible to go on calling it lean and comply with the regulations.

See https://www.gov.uk/government/news/shoppers-to-make-more-informed-choices-on-minced-meat for more information.

So what has changed is the labelling, rather than the product. Do you know what the fat content was of the lean lamb you used to buy?

I believe it was about 12%? I have looked on the labels because as far as slimming world is concerned if it is less than 16% it is lower in syns, but it's all about 20%:sigh:
