Syn values for free food in calculator

I live in Australia so trying to stick to slimming world here by using tools online. I just checked a normal bag of plain pasta on Syn calculator and it had Syns!! Even though i used pasta as the free food. Why? It should be free!!

Hi, always nice to speak to someone overseas doing SW.
I don't think the calculator is always accurate. It's better to go by your list of free food and dried pasta IS FREE.
No reason why you shouldn't contact SW and ask this question though, it would be interesting to hear the reply.
Good luck with your journey.

It's hard doing SW over here - I hit that issue with many things on the calculator so don't often use it now! Because we can't get many of the brand-name items, I also count other things as syn-free like Continental Pasta in Sauce and Continental Savoury Rice, and even the Coles & Woolworths own brands of these foods. If I didn't, I'd get very bored and give up. Same applies with HexBs, as long as it has 3g of fibre and around 120 calories it's fine with me. You just have to adapt really and tweak it to work for you. When I stop losing weight I may have to adjust my thinking slightly but for now it's working so I'm not worried about these tweaks.

On the plus side, it's good that leg of lamb joints are often on offer at the equivalent of £4 per kilo!

Can't wait to get out of this godawful country, less than a year to go on DH's contract now...

Thanks for the replies. Yes i was from glasgow and loved going to classes! Really miss it!

I know how you feel swan! Some days i could up and leave!! Living in sunshine isnt always what its cracked up to be!!!
