    Gmail Filter For MiniMins Email

I know quite a few members love using the email instant notification service when they get a reply to a thread. I can imagine that this can become quite a bit of email very quickly. I have made this quick tutorial for those of you who use Gmail.

Gmail sorts emails into what it calls "labels" (other wise a folder to you and me) and "filter" (redirect) that email to this "label" (its a folder really).

Log into your gmail account, at the top right there is a Cog for settings, and then click on "Settings".

Along the top of the settings page you will see a "Filter" tab:

Create a new filter by clicking the link towards the bottom of the page "Create new filter":

On this first setting you want to enter the email automatic minimins email comes from, which is always webmaster @ minimins.com (no spaces), if you write to me and get a response you will get it from a different address (This is because the webmaster email gets clogged up -FAST- with automatic holiday replies, out of office, failed emails and so on and so forth).

The next page will be something like this. The "Apply the lable - MiniMins" will not already be there, but you simply click on that box and create a new label "MiniMins" (Or whatever you want to call it).

You have other options here too they are:

Skip inbox (This bascially puts it into Archive and does not allow it to be in the inbox, then to access these emails you would have to contantly check the label from the menu on the left).
Mark as read (Does what it says, automatically marks it as read)
Star it (Gmail has a feature that allows you to mark important emails with a STAR, which means if its important you will be able to find it later, not recommended for automated email like this).
Forward it (Send it to another email address)
Delete it (automatically deletes the email)
Never send to spam (this is like a whitelist, regardless of what comes in it will never be marked as spam)
Always mark as important (another label)
Never mark as important (opposite of the one above).

After that you can update/save and apply label to existing emails in your inbox.

This should now help you clean up your inbox, you can create more filters for services like Facebook!
