A New Vegetarian!

Hello All!

I am a new vegetarian, new to Minimins, and new to Slimming World! I made the choice to go veggie for ethical reasons rather than slimming reasons, and I have only started Slimming World this week, but it seems if I stick to the Green plan I will be pretty sorted!

My only concern is getting enough protein really, I run and work out a few times a week, and always used to take a veggie protein powder (Vega Sport) and eat lots of nuts. I think those things must be affecting my weight though as I have gained about 5lb recently

So does anyone have any other suggestions to get enough protein in my diet, I have read that eating loads of soy can be really damaging, but I definitely want to stick to vegetarianism! It's for me

Thanks,
Pippa x

Hi :)

Well I actually do drink almond milk instead of regular milk anyway (I'm not a vegan I just prefer it) but didn't know it was high protein!? Also I have not heard of drinking aloe vera, have you got any tips on where to get that or how it works?

Thanks!

If you eat more than a small handful of Nuts a week you will gain weight, Nuts are fattening, period.. I don't know about the protein powder but I do know that Nuts are fatty and steer well away from them, we'll done you for going Veggie I know it can sometimes be hard but it is so worth it.

If you are doing SW, nuts are a healthy extra so check quantities that are allowed of the different sorts and enjoy. I use pulses a lot as a protein sources and tofu, all nice and low fat. Hope it goes/has been going well well for you, I see this is actually a post from last summer!
